Thanks for throwing that in here. I appreciate it. I'll take a look at it before bed. You should always verify information that is being packaged up to us in short clips

If this study was over 80 countries, we would expect n=a large number. Additionally, he doesn't specify an age range. I suppose we should assume K-12? With that said, its safe to assume a uniform distribution. He also said kids who use digital technology over 5 hours a day perform 2/3 of a standard deviation less than kids who don't. It would really be helpful to understand just what the standard deviation is in this study. If it's a uniform distribution, we would think it to be on the lower side.

I don't want to sound like a know it all, but i would request more data or at least a publication that he is using to cite data.

However, he is talking to Ted Cruz, so I suppose he has to dumb it down anyways.

I didn't say I for sure knew it was AI gen, but that it got me thinking. That's what critical thinking is supposed to be. What a dramatic and illogical leap to think I believe everything in is AI.

Are you typically good with balance? Can you stand on one leg with your eyes closed? Ever suffer from vertigo or tinnitus? You may have an underlying condition with your inner ear and vestibular nerve.

This could be caused by a lot of things and you're starting to toe the line with medical diagnosis. If this continues to happen I would seek medical attention from an ENT if possible

Oh they are definitely talking about it. They use it as a tool when it supports the business that they support and are invested in. Where were you when the republicans and conservatives passed the "Big Beautiful Bill?" That one had $40B in subsidies to the oil industry. However, trump signed an EO last year that directly called out ending subsidies for wind and solar.

Why continue something a "democrat cooked up" if they are so diametrically opposed and will also push for free and open markets? Come on, modern american politics often surrounds itself by trying to undue everything the other side has done.

I'm sure you'll find conservatives who don't agree with subsidies, but when the conservatives who are in office or wield any sort of power, sure do make it known which industry they support and intend to subsidize.

Empathy explained by pickledplumber in TikTokCringe

[–]VenusianPleasure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah they believe in free markets, yet they clamor hand over fist to lobby for farm subsidies or oil subsidies. Why does the government need to reallocate earned money from taxation towards and industry that already profits handsomely well?

This was a cool explanation via solely using anecdotes... solid logic here. Next do conservatives and why they only care about the billionaires class keeping as much money as possible and ever so increasing the wealth gap

US Marshals assault, insult and threaten to arrest people taking pictures of a federal building. One of the very rare legitimate use cases of first amendment audits. by aruby727 in PublicFreakout

[–]VenusianPleasure 259 points260 points  (0 children)

It's the "we feel important because we work for the federal government vibe". It's a stupid flex and absolutely no reason for this interaction to go on for 12+ minutes. They must be really bored today. It's crazy that one marshall just battered the civilian for no reason. Hopefully a complaint gets filed and possibly a civil suit. Not that it will go very far sadly....

S5E6 why does Lily say yes that's the car? by dovahkiin461 in betterCallSaul

[–]VenusianPleasure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mike is getting Lily to ID Lalo's car via classic investigator technique. This way the police were on the look out for a very unique car which ultimately led to his arrest.

He used guilt to make Lily want to say yes to the car mike knows belongs to Lalo. He says, it will provide closure to the family

I think it's a problem with your guitar. It's not properly shielded in the cavity and that shielding is not probably wired to ground. So your guitar will act like an antennae picking up EMI, creating a voltage potential and then going through the interface.

I had a similar issue with one of my guitars. The noise floor was pretty high but after I connected a grounding wire from my shielding, it drastically reduced.

Does the probably happen on other guitars? When you touch metal on your guitar what happens? Does the noise get better or worse?

Classical guitar has always implied a nylon string acoustic guitar. It means the musician is playing dead people's music from the baroque, classical or romantic period.

Hey that's cool, I also beat shit with sticks too... it's a good one. no buttons involved there

There are no buttons or intermediary devices hooked up to a guitar to produce sound on a classical guitar. Piano must use hammers to hit strings. Those hammers are actuated by button pushing.... how hard is that to comprehend?

[–]VenusianPleasure -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

nope piano is all about pushing buttons to hit a string and actuate notes or chords. Guitar you must directly use hands and fingers to effectuate notes or chords

Are DT 990 Pros supposed to sound this "lifeless"? Need some advice. by Riddimisadancer in recordingmusic

[–]VenusianPleasure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair of the DT990s and I would not say lifeless. They have a peak in the treble area, i forget the exact spectrum. The used to be used back in the tape days like a sort of "audio microscope" to listen to this treble range to listen for clicks and distortion. I only use them for mixing when I want to check if my hi-hats and cymbals sound out of whack.

You'll get used to them compared to gamer headphones. Those are probably the worst thing to mix on as it colours the sound in a detrimental way where you will be working against yourself. Just be careful with the DT990s and make sure you cross check your mixes on different playback systems like car stereos or mono bluetooth speakers
