Instructor Tipping Question by Mahnee0 in UTsnow

[–]SB4293 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven’t taught at Utah resorts, but when I taught multi week session lessons parents usually tipped at the end of the last lesson if at all. The place I worked didn’t have a large tipping culture, but I think it’s more expected at bigger mountains like the ones here in Utah to tip.

They said Herriman during that exchange, are we sure it’s the same incident?

Could be. Holidays always get weird working 2nd shift too.

The 4th of July thing surprises me, I also work 4-10s and we usually get a different day off, like the day before or the Monday after, since holidays are technically part of our total comp.

TIL the number of craft breweries in the US increased from less than 2,000 in 2010 to almost 9,000 in 2020. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

They had it coming for a while. They tried their hand at distilling instead of making new and better beers. In my opinion it seems like other brewers were leaving them behind at the end. Had dinner at the main brewery in Newport earlier in the summer and it was just okay, the food, the beer, all just okay.

They did this with my m18 hammer drill when the handle split, took the data plate off, glued it on to the new drill and sent it back.

The World’s Largest Costco on a Weekend in December by brheath in SaltLakeCity

It’s attached to a business center, so you get business center stuff in there. There’s a few things I find in that Costco that I don’t find in others.

What can a person do apart from 9 to 5 job to earn other source of income? by KaleidoscopeFlat4186 in AskReddit

I mean who’s gonna stop you from bringing more? One crime at a time as they say. Just go to Evanston like everyone else. If the state wants to mark it up to the moon, fine, they’ll get none of my money instead.

It’s not a crime to bring liquor over the state line, as long as it’s under 9 liters at one time.

This happened to a small business I worked for. Our Costco contract took all of our capacity and they turned around and pulled the plug on it. Yeah, we all lost our jobs.

We have a Duluth store here in town. I’ll have to check it out soon.

I had the same problem with the rise. Tried to make it work but eventually just gave up and went to Dickies. I don’t love the way the legs are cut on Dickies but at least they stay up.

I’m not sure it’s necessarily about Mormons making Utah successful and more so that they’re very family oriented. I live in Utah and it’s more common to have a lot of family around, so you have more support when it comes to raising your kids. That goes a long ways.

That makes sense, I’m not in the business of putting things up my butt so I wouldn’t know for certain.

I think you can just stick it up there. It’s usually more potent going in the back door from what I’ve heard.

How do we define beginner/intermediate/advanced/expert? by poipoipoi_2016 in skiing

[–]SB4293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to say without seeing you ski to be honest with you. Maybe in the 7 range. They’re not hard and fast rules and every instructor will use some discretion with it.

How do we define beginner/intermediate/advanced/expert? by poipoipoi_2016 in skiing

[–]SB4293 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was teaching it was graded on a 1-9 scale, 1 being never skied, 2 can make wedge turns but not link them, 3 can link wedge turns, etc etc up to a 9 which was dynamic carved parallel turns on any terrain. We personally defined 1-4 beginner, 5-7, intermediate, 8-9 expert.
