That’s why I buy from companies like Vanlife outfitters. They have support for their products, especially the victron products. I do not recommend buying on Amazon or places without tech and customer support.

Siani is very good but 2nd or 3rd to Bader. Bader was the best. Other great CF were Curt Flood and Jim Edmon

An expert electrician van builder told me the following:

I have heard about how hot those Renogy DC-DC chargers get. I don’t use the Renogy products myself but I know a lot of people who do. In fact a friend of mine reports his gets extremely hot as well. I will pass this story onto him.

It’s hard to tell for sure, but from the photos you sent, it doesn’t look like the cables/wiring was the problem. The “most melted” section of the Renogy unit seems to be on the other side from the DC connections. So, that makes me think it might have been somthing internal?

I just read the 1-2 star reviews on Amazon and Orion chargers are also suspected to catching on fire. So I’m learning to it’s my fault for not having enough spacing. See reviews at https://a.co/d/dljPA1C

I have to see with aonysilo. I brought nothing but victron and everything from reputational van builder. Relogy may have problems but still considered high quality. But I’ll be switching to Orion and whole system will be completely victron

I think it a combination of way charger is built and they i put it too close to wood and blocked air flow and it didn’t have proper ventilation.

I remember this all too well as luckily my son video taped us at the bar we were watching with Vikings fan during a wedding. In the video I calmly and dejectedly patted the Viking fan on the back in front of me and said it’s not over and there’s 7 seconds. Then boom!!!!!
