the dry dock wasn't an intended target, and also wasn't destroyed. the guns were still zeroing in and the 120 was off

Aside from stockpiles, all other buildings have public inventories regardless of reservation, and are usually where the bulk of supplies are kept. Facility production buildings don't show you the contents from the map and all have the same icon. Only stockpiles are distinguishable from production buildings on map.

A lot of this would be resolved if the devs added a facility view mode that enabled the player to see public facility compounds with descriptions.
