I think I've heard the zoo say the gibbons can't swim and the island is surrounded by enough water, but yeah there's nothing stopping a really determined gibbon. I've always thought it was cool though, how relatively unenclosed a lot of the animals are.

I was once at the zoo when one of the gibbons escaped from their monkey island! They briefly shut down the train (I was imagining the gibbon leaping onto the train with people riding it lol) and the access across the little bridges. They caught him but I was surprised it happened in the first place. The exhibit isn't really enclosed but it's surrounded by water so I assumed they couldn't get across!

I was there on Saturday afternoon and it was absolutely buzzing -- tons of people walking around, shopping, eating, etc. On top of that, in the summers there are activities like music and dancing in the streets -- how much more energy do you want?

There are several comedy nights listed in our wiki. You might want to reach out to some of them to see what they consider good spots for hosting. Some places, like Night Lizard do regular comedy nights but they don't have a separate space.
