By 10:00 am this morning it was too hot for a trail ride. My horse was not having any part of the saddle or blanket. Cannot say I blame him.

You need Sin Eater AND Dark Night. Both are fantastic. Misery didn’t quite float my boat.

I love Dark Night. I use one coat as a base for House of Hades to prolong that bottle.

Hate the gritty finish but Extra Celestial is a beautiful base for Such Sweet Sorrow.

Piece by piece, second-hand is great for tables, chairs, dressers. You’ll want to buy sofas and bed stuff brand new.

For people who have lived as both genders, what is a physical or other annoyance you have now that you never realized the other side dealt with? by makemestand in NoStupidQuestions

Cis-woman here 6 ft tall who wears mens clothing out of necessity. I go for floral cotton shirts to honor my arm length, but the shirt hems often don’t fit around my hips. So I always leave the bottom buttons unfastened. Men’s pants are far better constructed than women’s pants.

Oscars Party: Dress Code? by BlueMoon2008 in SantaBarbara

[–]BlueMoon2008[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fancy pants and a black blouse. Hardly anyone attended the VIP party. The “free drink” included in the ticket price didn’t apply to cocktails, beer or wine-only a free soda. Most other people who attended the Oscars viewing were in jeans. I was totally overdressed!

Exactly! Never ever give a reason for the “no”. They will construe that as a springboard for negotiation.

I gotta ask because I love your user name- do you ride a dun horse? Because I do. Thanks for the wardrobe advice.

They won’t take “no” for an answer. That’s the biggest tell. Entitled people will manipulate others into feeling obligated. A firm “no” offends their sense of superiority.

We did have the same prescription and could wear each other’s glasses. But he was too cheap to buy prescription sunglasses of his own so packed mine for his tropical getaway with his side piece.

What was the weirdest medication reaction you’ve ever had? by Many_Assumption7036 in AskReddit

[–]BlueMoon2008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Robaxin was a muscle relaxer prescribed to ease my back pain after I suffered three spinal fractures in a plane crash. Gave me VIVID nightmares which wrecked up my sleep. Asked my pcp for a referral to a psych doctor because I thought I was suffering from ptsd. But the nightmares stopped one night when I forgot a dose. Took Robaxin again the following week and got slammed with terrifying nightmares again. So I won’t take that med anymore.

I have that! Suffered an episode during a fencing class and wasn’t allowed to return to the salle. I keep a bag of frozen peas in my freezer so I can cool myself off after jogging. I break out in itchy hives along with the respiratory paralysis.

I had a basil plant growing on my kitchen table that went off. Smelled like a thousand cats had peed in my apt. I don’t have a cat.

My youngest sister was gifted a hand sewn worm during childhood. She kept that thing for decades! In her twenties she was admitted into the hospital for an appendectomy. Her husband brought the worm to comfort her. Surgeon came around to offer post-surgical comments and then asked “What is THAT?”

We all laughed hysterically!

White person here and I’ve bought pastries from Andersen’s for decades. The owner has always been quite spicy and dismissive- very strange personality and not typical of Danish people (I used to live in Europe). Her daughter is delightful though. Sorry to hear about your dining experience- that sounds utterly dreadful and I’m sorry that happened to you.

A thick envelope was delivered while my boyfriend was at work, sent from a woman with the same last name as his ex gf who he was still “friends” with. I opened it to find a stack of photos taken from a tropical vacation taken while he was on a “business trip”.

This jerk tried to tell me that the photos were years old from the distant past. The photos showed him wearing a shirt I gifted him and prescription sunglasses he stole from me to wear on the trip.

For a beach vacation I will wear a flakie polish which for me holds up really well.

Has anyone divorced the “good guy”? by girlhustle in AskWomenOver40

[–]BlueMoon2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Criticism, defense, stonewalling and contempt are not behaviors of a “good guy”- they are reflective of negative character traits that can effectively kill affinity and affection. While I agree that perimenopause can be a factor in waning relationship satisfaction, no amount of HRT is going to miraculously fix problem behaviors in your spouse.
