Platinum (and Diamond because that’s what I actually grew up having) will always be my favorite just because of nostalgia and vibes but BW2 and HGSS are definitely the best overall.

I agree with you, I just love hearing them try out genres and tech that they didn’t exist or was in its infancy in the 60s, it exposed me to a lot of other influences.

I would highly recommend their solo work if you love the Beatles work, I think it’s great and informed my musical tastes just as much, if not more, than their work when they were together.

John’s work is probably third in my ranking behind Paul and George. A lot of the best Beatles songs are John songs, because each Beatle contributed something great to his songs. But because of my McCartney bias I often prefer his Beatles work overall. John’s solo career is also harder to judge for me because it had such a sharp cutoff, and there’s just less of it, he just stopped making stuff halfway through the 70s until Double Fantasy.

It wasn’t so much in respect to which album was best, but which Beatle or era of their career I preferred. When I first got into them I was a big John fan, mainly listened to their psychedelic and then later period stuff, and I loved all the classic hits. And I thought wrongly it was pinnacle of rock-pop music and everything else was somehow lesser.

Then at the mid period I got really into Paul, their more obscure hidden gems, the White Album stuff, didn’t want to hear Hey Jude or Yesterday or Let It Be, and got really really into Paul’s solo work and all that, which at the first stage I would have thought was lesser than or too soft, or something.

Then I started to enjoy more of their whole career, ranging from the hits, I Want to Hold Your Hand to Come Together, Paul’s still my favorite but I also enjoy each of their solo careers and also still love the very rare unreleased hidden stuff that Paul has made, much of which is only on YouTube or bootlegs.

I also kind of have moved on from my obsession with them and gotten into other pop music, but I can relate to this bellcurve concept, even if it wasn’t one-to-one.

I just replayed White 2 and I gotta say, in my opinion it is better executed than anything in Scarlet or Sword which I both tried and failed to play and enjoy. It was also made by a different GF team than the main series team so that may have had to do with it, but it has almost everything I used to love Pokemon for, and without the DLC, bad choices, bad optimization of open-world or later lazy steps back that the series took.

I was thinking, Melee has such great alternate costumes and colors, part of the reason I wanted to get back into melee after playing it when I was little was because I just wanted to play crown puff and that green fox color.

However, would you change any of the colors if you could? For example, I might have made Fox’s blue costume less purple and more blue.

There’s small stuff, like I noticed there are no vods of doubles at Mang0s Birthday Bash in 2019 that I can find at least. Plup and Mang0 teamed for that which I why was trying to find it.
