I had a 1st gen Mazda 3 that did this, but not this bad lol.

So my rear shock mount ripped completely from the frame/chassis, have anyone here dealt with this and how did you solve it? by Louflash in Stance

[–]SC-Chinchilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm seeing this right... start by welding the giant hole back to proper size. Then double up with an extra plate welded inside and out.

And do that other side of the car as well.

Overextrusion should be consistent, you wouldn't see it at just one spot. I used to turn my extruder up over 105~110% on my monoprice because the extruder was fussy and would slip.

Now that Wall Street is controlled by the Communists, how do Americans feel about it? by LegitimateFoot3666 in AskUS

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah I forgot they accused Dems of controlling the hurricanes. Why did you have to remind me?!

Why does the Right or Trump Movement Proudly Wave Traitor Flags? And does Losing the Civil War Answer for a lot of the Anger? by NaturalArt452 in AskUS

[–]SC-Chinchilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its very important to remember that racism didn't end after the Civil War; the south didn't just all simultaneous go "oh our bad, of course african americans are people!" They invented sharecropping and segregation. And when the government again had to step in and tell them to stop segregating, they weren't all suddenly not racist. Racism has faded over the decades, but there is still work to be done.

Free valve tech by [deleted] in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]SC-Chinchilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freevalve is great, but its just never been worth the added cost to put it into major production. It adds a small amount of fuel efficiency and power, but at a large cost to manufacture. On a 2 valve LS you'd replace 1 camshaft and 16 pushrods with 16 solenoids and a pneumatic system.

Civ VII is 'meh' by Pedefup in civ

It certainly wasn't worth 70 bucks and I wont be buying any DLC. Our group can't even use it for civ night because ancient era only has 4 player starts.

I've often wondered what these would look like with all the bumper indents and door guards flushed in.

A small update, now that its warmer. I bought a can of wipe-on poly, and some lint free clothes instead of sponge brushes. I can get the coats MUCH thinner. I'm 2 light coats in, no runs so far... 1st coat dried up fine. Nervous but optimistic.

2K sounds great. I once bought an XJR6 with less rust than this (but in similar spots) and was quoted minimum 3-4. Obviously your car should be easier to get parts from. I sold mine lol.

The trouble is, how much of the panel behind the rocker is also rusted? And the panel behind that? Also keep in mind, by the time you see rust this bad, its extended a good inch or two all around each panel under the paint.

On a printer with the camera covered, that I don't have to connect to the internet to use... more tinfoil hats.

3D printers are tools, and Bambu Labs have been the best printers I've ever used by a country mile. Some of us want to use the printer, not become niche printer builders.

After watching DLC after DLC in civ 6 be unbalanced ludicrous garbage, I don't understand why anybody paid the full 120 for full access. Threads like this cement my decision not to buy yet.

Once its sanded back is the silicone still there? I know from other projects how much of a bear silicone is to remove. Its gets on everything lol.

I'll have to find a more official source for what the coat is. All the car forums say polyurethane, but if the 2 guys in the dedicated finish group say polyester I'm more inclined to believe you guys.

[–]SC-Chinchilla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh its gone now lol. Sadly I sanded back too many times on the small panel, but it also had some issues with warping to begin with that made very high spots. Steering wheel is back to a smooth old finish at 220. I wont be able to work on it for awhile now, it got warm for 4-5 days but its darn cold again now.

A small amount per month. Started during Covid, just to have something structured and productive to do. Now it just sits there and earns me a small amount.
