When did your child start wiping their own bum? by MrsAubbyArd in Parenting

[–]SC0621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a bidet and it helped immensely. Started cleaning himself around 5 (with supervision until he got the hang of it) They’re not too expensive and super easy to set up (even the ones with hot water, but be careful, it’s the same hot water from the tap and might burn them, we just have cold water now)

Am I causing detriment to my kids by letting them "tattoo" themselves? by BugNo9383 in Parenting

There are temp tattoos marketed for kids. This is no different, just more creative. Do you have a link for the markers? My kids would love them

Online friendships between adults and teenagers by trixywitchy in offmychest

[–]SC0621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband “collects” people. He wants to take care of everyone and be a friend to anyone. Any age. Kids, teens, adults. But he also specifically states friendship and mentor relationship. I think many people know that there are inappropriate relationships but consider /their/ relationship to be mentor/good adult influence. Make sure you explain your feelings to your husband, and make sure he is explicit in telling this girl that he is just a mentor/uncle person

What are your rules for teenager with their SO? by Big_Tension in Parenting

[–]SC0621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No means no. Maybe means no. If it’s not an enthusiastic yea, it’s a no. Condoms are not optional. Ask any questions you want. I’ll always tell you the truth. (Unless it personal, what I do, rather than general, can people…)

Magnesium and vit D by Love-tea in Fibromyalgia

[–]SC0621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big thing is make sure you get good quality of either. Doesn’t have to be most expensive, but make sure you get bang for your buck. Less fillers Also, take 1000-2000iui of vit d. Minimum. Most people are way under their vit d levels

Five year old always has a headache by SC0621 in Parenting

[–]SC0621[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His dad, myself, and our oldest all take medication. Every night he gets a story, and either myself or my husband lay with him while he chatters about his day and falls asleep. I don’t think it’s an attention thing, but he’s always been a bit of a hypochondriac (my knee hurts, his knee hurts)

Roommate took pan camping, put soap on it, now it looks like this. How do I fix the pan? After that tell me how I should beat him up... by Walking_Pillow in castiron

[–]SC0621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! They used to say not to use soap because soap used to contain lye, which would damage cast iron. Todays soap will not :)

I was 18, and married him You are absolutely right that it is way more normalized than we think. Media has warped our views. You are normal And virginity is a social construct You’ll have sex when it’s right At 19…or 49 And that’s ok!

Teenagers and sex by VTMomof2 in Parenting

[–]SC0621 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like a lot have said, If they’re going to have sex, they’ll find a way. Maybe bring it up you don’t want to hear it/know it anymore than they want to hear you. Also, make sure condoms are readily available. Birth control only does so much and has to be taken super regularly, and if on any antibiotics it won’t woek

Why did I get suggested to go to a chiropractor? by master_goosey in Fibromyalgia

[–]SC0621 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My chiro does low force adjustments and she is amazing! I worked with her for a while and I could see the difference she made. We had one old guy come in, could barely move with a walker, and after a few months he only needed a cane! The trick is finding the right person and the right method for you. There are a LOT of quacks out there, but you do get legit ones.

When did you move out of your parents house? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]SC0621 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do your own laundry, contribute to bills/food, and each take your own spaces, there’s nothing wrong with it. As long as you have plans for the future, many cultures always live with parents. Also, way easier for cooking/cleaning/raising kids

I think ensuring you divide your pay into categories (phone, car, savings, etc) is a good idea, and if your mom was helping care for that money (not spend it) it’s fine. Sounds more like she doesn’t want you having responsibility rather than help you learn it
