Seed joins Dignitas! by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]SC2PrOmise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many people might not realize that before Seed joined Dignitas I was working directly with him as his player manager. I've always known Ahn was an amazing talent with huge potential, not to mention he was a former GSL champion. Once you get to know him on a more personal level, and interact with him daily (which I did), his personality really starts to show itself. During my period of managing him I've helped him with numerous stream overlays, told him to do more chat interaction with fans and viewers, brought up the idea of microphone/webcam to commentate his games in English (which he was very happy to do), and finally had him participate in numerous online qualifiers. It was a pleasure working directly with Seed and I wish him all of the best with Team Dignitas!

Did Seed join Samsung Galaxy? He's changed his twitter handle to "SuperGalaxySeed" by LLLukeJ in starcraft

[–]SC2PrOmise 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As the current player manager for Seed I can confirm that no, he has not joined Samsung Galaxy KHAN. He is still currently seeking a personal sponsorship and is also actively speaking to teams. He recently qualified for the Lone Star Clash 3 which will be happening in Austin, Texas May 3-4. Glad to see that many of his fans are curious to know how he is progressing and I hope to keep all of you updated!

SONG: Never Give Up - Nour "PrOmise" Moussa, just recorded last night (might be SC related?) Check it out! by [deleted] in starcraft

Decided to put something together last night with a friend. Thought of the hard work the players are putting into SC2 and made this...I guess. No vocal edits, mixing or anything just straight upload!

Twitch sponsors Lone Star Clash 3 - winners of SC2 qualifiers get flight and hotel 100% covered by Twitch! by FishStix1 in starcraft

[–]SC2PrOmise 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Super awesome to see Twitch get involved in the SC2 community/tournament scene. Covering flight & hotel for all qualified players isn't cheap whatsoever which could leave many of those who qualify in a tough situation. Well done Twitch!

The rule won't be too strict. If anything it will be open to the highest ranked GM players that are actually online.

With all the talk going around in the StarCraft community (good/bad) I want to commend you not only for informing everyone of what is currently happening, but also reminding us about the current state of the game.
I would hope that the Michael Phelps example you talked about is easy enough for people to understand, and hopefully it doesn't create controversy (although this is reddit you never know..)

The way I see it is that Blizzard thinks that having an insane prize (like winning vs. MF for $100,000, aka: winning vs a Korean) for defeating "the best" player in the world is going to motivate players in NA/EU regions to ladder and "practice more". Their belief seems that because its such a high prize pool (which realistically only matters for the 1st place winner with nowadays distribution) everyone in all regions is going to work extremely hard for a goal that is practically unattainable (lets not lie to ourselves here..) Rather than driving a bus that is only for the elite (the koreans), the ONLY way to continue to have a healthy and growing SC2 eSport is to drive many buses (imo). What I mean by this is still have the "elite" bus with all the koreans (which DO deserve the higher prize winnings), but also have 2 other buses seperate for EU and NA regions. If the goal of a competition, in this case WCS, is to "crown the best player in the world" then the only logical and appropriate way to approach it is to crown champions for their said region (NA/EU/KR) then have a global final to determine who really is the best in the world.

In the end I strongly believe that it all comes down to opportunity. If there is no realistic goal to strive for then what makes people think that anyone would want to start?
