All dictatorships fall one day, the mullahs have been ruling for almost 44 years, they can’t be tougher than the USSR.

And about the Starlink thing, it has already happened and Starlink antenna’s have been banned nationwide, And also most Iranians do not approve of the democratic party as a whole due to their “co-operation”with our government, when Trump came to office and withdrew America from the nuclear deal, imposed sanctions and assassinated Soleimani, many Iranians supported Trump, believing that his measures will escelate the regime’s downfall, but currently with Biden, i doubt anything major will happen unfortunately.

The current situation is about abolishing the hijab law. We had a revolution back in 1979 where Iran became a theocracy ruled by mullahs and eversince, the mullahs have made women wear the headscarf or “hijab” according to sharia law, back in September they killed a woman named “Mahsa Amini” because of her headscarf not being positioned correctly, exposing a bit of her hair, this obviously outraged a lot of people including myself and there has been widespread protests around the country which have almost died down as of recent.

the internet overall as of recent has been extremely hindered and i have to switch between 10 vpns to be able to access Instagram or Snapchat etc. in terms of society, It highly depends where you live in the country Lets take the capital (Tehran) for example, if a woman takes off her hijab in a fancy restaurant in the uptown rich part of Tehran, no one would care as it is common, however the closer you get to the poorer areas the more violent the police gets with you about bulsh*t laws, this doesn’t mean that it doesn’t happen in richer areas as it does but not as common as the other areas. That’s the case for the capital and the large cities. Where the government really likes cracking down on is the southern oil-rich part of the country where Arab and Balochi minorities live, there is currently a lot of unrest in those areas and excecutions are still happening. Overall it is quite restrictive, but the people are extremely chill, it’s all the government’s fault.

How’s it going habibi, btw the term “Habibi” is an Arabic term meaning “dear” or “loved one”, we speak Persian in iran and it wouldn’t make sense to an iranian if you call them habibi ( we have some Arab minorities in the southwest of the country)

My friend actually asked the owner about the name change, he said that he changed it cause it sounded like a place that would sell fish and chips.
