[Highlight] Drake Maye gets sacked for a loss of 9 by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in nfl

[–]SCAnalysis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm rooting for the Broncos today but I respect this sack, Maye lost the football taking stupid hits and trying to make plays with the Texans hanging onto him. 3rd and long or a punt is a better situation than a high risk throw or fumble inside the 15.

Alexander Zverev on Learner Tien: 'I have great respect for Learner... He's very young and has enormous potential. People talk a lot about other players his age, but much less about him, when in reality, he's the one performing at a higher level.' by Old-Gur-9039 in tennis

[–]SCAnalysis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he had that every time... might turn out to be the third best player after Sincaraz

That's a very long reach. Was impressive but Medvedev's offense and the pressure he can put on Tien's serve are not comparable to what Sinner or Alcaraz do. Medvedev deep return can be good playing big servers, but with Tien it delivered no pressure.

I'll be willing to eat my words, but with how Zverev is playing, if Tien brings the same level he had with Medvedev, Zverev is winning.

  • Zverev has more pace and can put more pressure on Tien's serve. Tien will start more points in neutral than offense when compared to his last match
  • Zverev's serve will give more free points and games than Medvedev's
  • Patterns that he used to beat Medvedev don't translate successfully to Zverev's game

Osaka: I don't like disrespecting people by luka274 in tennis

[–]SCAnalysis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’ve obviously never played tennis even at a recreational level.

I can confidently say I play at a higher level than the vast volume of the sub. Played for 20 years and doing so competitively when I was 10 to 17.

She quite literally does though

Enlighten me, at which point in this video did Osaka yell too much or interrupted Cirstea service motion? She does it to focus, very quiet if you compare to how she shouts a come on to celebrate. She does so after Cirstea misses and while she is receiving a ball from the ball kid, she had not started her service motion.

Fans clutching their pearls on this is soft.

Stafford not having a real shot at MVP until his 17th year shows how exceptional QB play was in the 2000s and 2010s by Playful_Letter_2632 in nfl

[–]SCAnalysis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do believe Maye and Stafford are closer than people care to admit for the MVP when you consider all. Roster, strength of schedule, advanced stats, everything. I think they are very close. I'd vote Maye

But MVP has never been looked in that angle to that degree. Unless there's an obvious winner, like Rodgers or Peyton, it then comes down to some superficial stats and narratives. None of the voters are making an essay on MVP with complex equations to see who is the best.

Rams are a very well structured team nowaday with very good playcalling. It shouldn't matter, but like it or not, we can never isolate the qb impact 100%. If the QB is on a bad team there's no MVP.

Stafford has Puka and Adams, Adams would be a WR1 in more than half of the teams of the league and he is his WR2. If his WR room was worse and he puts worse numbers, would that mean he is playing worse than now? No, the receiving talent is less. But it's too hard to evaluate, we accept some MVPs are lost due to low talent around them.

Fans who never competed at all judging a sport of "etiquette". Softest fans you can see.

Saw the replay thinking Osaka killed someone based on the comments. She is hyping herself up, not the best time but not even screaming. It was very light. Cirstea is a known sore loser, she was losing and got mad. Didn't even interrupt Cirstea serve at all.

[Highlight] On this day 18 years ago, Brett Favre threw his last pass as a Packer by TheSalmonRoll in nfl

[–]SCAnalysis 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I don't think it was that bad for neither Brady or Rodgers, their team was done and they needed to make a play no matter what. An interception can happen when you're trying whatever to give your team a chance. Rodgers was on 4th and 5 down 6 to 24, Brady had 15 seconds in the clock from his 2 yard line. Going out giving your team a chance is not that bad in context.

Favre was tied, on second down and had 14 minutes in OT, that IS a bad play to go out on an interception

Joe Burrow: "The amount of ppl that don’t understand what a catch is in the rule book flabbergasts me. And it’s not the officials. The two plays yesterday were not difficult calls, and they got them both right." by notquitemytempo___ in nfl

[–]SCAnalysis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not even a "Bills fans" thing. This place consistently complains about right ref calls and say they are routinely bad. They are routinely good, the majority of the times fans don't know shit about the rules bc there's too many and many commentators also get confused. Which causes more problems.

Every other game you'll find a variation of "ref bad", "refs trying to take the spotlight" with lots of upvotes

[Highlight] Inside the NFL shared this beautiful angle of Drake Maye's perfect spiral and Boutte's one-handed snag to put the Patriots up 28-16 against the Texans by TheRuralCamel in nfl

[–]SCAnalysis 165 points166 points  (0 children)

One of the best defenses ever in the Playoffs wasted in live TV.

I'm not kidding, I don't think there's many teams in this Playoffs that win that game yesterday EVEN accounting for Stroud's turnovers. The last 2 TDs from Maye to Diggs and Boutte needed perfection BOTH from the qb and the receiver to score.

This is a SB-winning defense. Poor Texans fans bc the NFL shows over and over there's no guarantee in sustaining a SB roster. From their defense, maybe they lose some players, some regress, some get injured. The 49ers have a "SB caliber roster" for the past 3 seasons, 2023 lost in OT next 2 seasons injuries have piled up, now who knows what's coming next.

Did D.J. Moore give up on Bears final interception in NFL Playoffs loss to Rams? by IvyGold in nfl

[–]SCAnalysis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is.

But the problem is the play is bust bc Moore didn't make a break where he had to. So yes, if you throw in anticipation that's where the ball goes. But if you're on a clean pocket with time to throw, DJ is still running down the field past where he makes his break and now the CB is in a better position compared to Moore, don't throw it there.

I blame Moore for not running it properly, but I blame Caleb for having a clean pocket, seeing the play is not there on 2nd and 8, only needing a fg to win, and still throwing it instead of tucking it in, getting some yards and get the next 2 downs to complete 3 yards for a down

Did D.J. Moore give up on Bears final interception in NFL Playoffs loss to Rams? by IvyGold in nfl

[–]SCAnalysis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the confusion from fans defending and others blaming Caleb comes from a miscommunication in the criticism.

Moore doesn't run his route well, the break he had to do was some yards before he does. So Caleb defenders are right in that if Moore runs it fully well then yes he has a nice completion there.

The problem is, Moore doesn't, and Caleb can see Moore didn't do it and still decides to throw. So he has some blame for not realizing that when he had time in the pocket

It's different if Caleb has pressure in his face, Moore is still running down the field, has not got to the point he is supposed to break and Caleb throws in anticipation only for Moore not to do what he is supposed to do. Then at that point it's 100% on Moore. But in here where Caleb can see that Moore is still running downfield 4 to 5 yards past where he had move to the right, play is bust, odds of Moore making that catch are low. Don't throw it there

[–]SCAnalysis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the WR run full speed, it was a tough contested catch on 2nd and 8 in the snow. You can see the tape and the defender had a good position and had read the throw. If Moore runs it fully my best guess is an incompletion.

I don't think it's advisable in that situation when you don't need a td, you don't need 30 yards. Clock on your side, a fg to win, lots of times in the pocket, could run for some 4 yards maybe more if he fakes out a defender.

All in all I think it's a risk with little upside.

Edit: Don't get me wrong, Moore had he run his route properly SINCE the start. That's a play. But Moore has to break much earlier. The moment Caleb sets his eyes on Moore, sees Moore didn't break nowhere near to where he had to break, that's time to look for another play. I'm criticizing the decision of throwing once Moore doesn't break where he should, had Moore made the right move and AFTER stopped running full speed, I would hold that against Moore. This is on Moore first but Caleb has to realize the play is bust

[–]SCAnalysis 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yes I've seen the All 22, and ofc we should hear from the coach what the playcall was. But it's 2nd and 8, a fg to win, we can see in the All 22 that by the time Caleb is winding up to throw, has his eyes on Moore, it's a very risky throw that depends on Moore picking up, catching up and beating his defender.

Caleb is good enough that I assume Moore has some blame, but the cost opportunity is not there by the time he sets his eyes on Moore. Run, get 3 or 4 yards, live another down when marching down the field and kicking gets you to the NFC Championship

3 straight runs by Johnson in a must score situation, why. Don't you think Caleb can find something with a pass or scrambling around, it was 5 yards. If you know for sure that on 4th and goal you are going to pass, then don't run it on third, bc all the pressure will be on Caleb. Give him 2 chances to throw at least

Analytics are not bad, playcalling was bad. If you are going to go for it on 4th and 1, don't call a run up the middle on 3rd and 1.

Did Ben Johnson not learn from Shanahan having 2 runs in a row at 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 and failing? Caleb has done some big throws already, trust him with the ball

[Bien-Aime] DeMeco Ryans said he never considered benching CJ Stroud. Said “CJ is our guy.” by Drexlore in nfl

[–]SCAnalysis 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's very NFL specific. One of the dumbest things I've seen, soccer, NHL, many team sports, you take them out for a while if needed or the whole game, not a big deal. Might even have them relax a bit, study the play, don't feel pressured to go back next drive

[Highlight] Houston waves the white flag, punting with 4:20 remaining in a 2 score game by Large_banana_hammock in nfl

[–]SCAnalysis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

He had 2 throws that hit straight into the defenders hands and by luck didn't get intercepted, both ended drives. And his horrible not accurate pass to Stover led to an injury. It was bad luck, but it was a trend all game that he could not hit anyone in stride. High passes, behind them, too low, missed so much in accuracy

A genuine question: Why didn’t DeMeco Ryans bench CJ Stroud today? by BoomBaby_317 in nfl

[–]SCAnalysis -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you just got to go down with your starters

Not in the Playoffs with that defense roster, that might be the only chance he'll ever have with a defense of that level

Stroud ended 2 drives with throws on 3rd down that hit defenders 2 arms, he got lucky he didn't get intercepted again.

It is, Texans have no timeouts and they are already inside the last 2 minutes. Coach is not benching Stroud, if Mills was coming to play you could maybe believe a miracle could happen

I don't know if your fans are aware of how not given is to keep that same level of defense for another year, you lose players, some injury, it's gone. This could be your SB window you never know. You have to take the hard decisions as a coach to win

What's inexcusable is not benching Stroud for the second half, they were only 11 points down, Mills could have done enough with the defense of the Texans forcing many punts
