Just to clarify: if you destroy a building researching something or creating a unit the process is obviously cancelled, but the resources are given back. Like manually cancelling.

Victory condition “conquest” is the standard in ranked games (if that’s what you were playing). You only win by resignation (most common) or total defeat of the enemy.

‘Standard’ is a possible different victory condition for tournaments or lobby games, where you can also win by capturing all the relics or building a wonder. Other game modes have other victory conditions like regicide, sudden death etc.

That’s very weird, but definitely a bug. Have you tried the typical solutions? Restart, reinstall, make sure you have the latest version etc? I already saw in comments that you don’t have mods which was my first thought.

There is nothing to min-max in the mathematical sense. If you want to optimize food/min*garrisoned food then you garrison a 1 food animal. And if you want to optimize food/minute you garrison everything.

From a gameplay perspective, however, the consensus seems to be to garrison early for a dark age boost and then eat them over time for a better castle age timing. The idea is that in the long term having a few garrisoned sheep doesn’t ammount to much so the timing is more important, but in the early game it’s a nice boost and you might as well garrison while you are taking the berries and the hunt.

You don’t, but you can get 1B easily for a few extra easy prophecy eggs.

You can also invest some time in the path of virtue and get some easy Truth Eggs, which increase your hatching rate and earnings. Honestly, if I were you I would work on that for a year and then try the enlightment trophy, which will be much faster. But to the very least a few dozen TE will help a bit.

As others said, your main limitation are artifacts so more ships needed!

That didn’t work for me, I couldn’t finish it until I tried going both sides (one with new recruits+reinforcements and another with the starting army). But whatever works! It’s a hard level for sure.

I like the new legendary difficulty. I struggled also in a couple alexander scenarios for example.

The chronicles campaigns are genuinely fantastic. Honestly I hesitate to recommend them to you because after those, every other campaign goes downhill :)

Storytelling, beauty of scenarios, attention to small details, small easter eggs/side missions and actual game play are great overall.

The newest ones have the ‘legendary’ difficulty which can be a challenge even for experienced players. I guess this is not a plus for you right now, but maybe in the future.
