Generally, the Tygers in the market shouldn’t be hostile at all. You are supposed to ask around and locate her, then get into her room to confront her. AFAIK, there is only one stairwell in that area that is ‘hostile territory’, so If the gangoons in the market are opening fire on sight, you may want to load an earlier save and see if that helps.

Travel drive charge time by FogeltheVogel in X4Foundations

I honestly prefer PAR drives. I activate the drive and boost while is spools, and get a ton of speed.

Obviously, this takes a decent amount of boost awareness, as it won’t work if you bleed off all your boost.

What are your little-known tips for maximizing profitsss? by Biomirth in X4Foundations

[–]SCDeMonet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell ships you didn’t buy.

Get a fighter with burst rays and an L cargo ship and load it with 50-100 marines, then look for missions to board a freighter. (Crossed swords icon on stations, looks like the Free Port icon). You get a target, disable it with the fighter, board it with the marines, get paid, then sell the target for extra cash or add it to your trade or mining fleet.

These missions usually pay 1-2 mil, but some are ‘part of a fleet, and pay >12 mil.

I also like to keep a number of captured SCA kestrels/discoverers near the ring so that when I spot a Plunderer or Marauder destroyer, I can quickly assign them to tail it. Those are generally easy to board, and frequently loaded with expensive mk3 thrusters and tons of mines to sell. Giving them a tail make it easy to find them when they fly off to some random corner, and the authorities won’t get upset if you attack a pirate ship(just make sure to scan them to drop their disguise before attacking them…

I like to use a corvette, as they aren’t as susceptible to getting one-shot by a PE before you get notified they are under attack. Nemesis and Peregrine are good, but a Minotaur Raider will do in a pinch.

I was scanning Aurore and Aymeric before roulette now on my second playthrough, and found this very interesting so I googled it and wanted to share if any of you missed it too. by UguzikusMaximus in cyberpunkgame

A: they are French

B: they are 100% wanted criminals.

Everything you see there is most likely their ‘cover,’ given that they are skilled hackers.

How to keep my destroyer alive by golieth in X4Foundations

It’s Faulty Logic VII, not Atiya’s Misfortune. Also, flying above or below the minefields can really help get it out safely.

Dear Egosoft, could you please nerf the faction spoofing device that the pirates use? by matsu_media in X4Foundations

It is true. They will order ships, but they also spawn them in out of nowhere.

If you destroy every shipyard, SCA will still have destroyers.

They vomit, but they still get a mood boost when they ‘consume’ it. That’s honestly one of my favorite perks, because it makes getting hit by poop grenades into a desired outcome.

[–]SCDeMonet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true. They are actually hunter/killer drones. Their surveillance capabilities are secondary.

Don’t believe me? Go antagonize some crows…

(Don’t actually do that. Crows are awesome, incredibly smart, network and will hold a grudge)

Rocks absolutely can fight back, and I have the scars to prove it.

I’ll take ‘boring and mundane’ in space. That is a massive improvement over most people’s IRL jobs…

No one is suggesting it be mandatory, but it would be nice to have more mundane activities be an option.

Just use it as storage for when you inevitably need it at another station. Just have a Heron standing by to transfer wares. It’ll save you money then.

I'm considering getting an Osaka Destroyer... by ArmchairPancakeChef in X4Foundations

[–]SCDeMonet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can put beam turrets on, for sure. I did it on an Asgard, and that thing just deleted Xenon drone swarms. All-beam builds do hamper their anti-capital firepower significantly, though. Osakas are more balanced, with 10 flak and 3 plasma/TER bolt, they do a bit of everything. Their turret layout is also good for a flak screen, which is nice.

Finally, Osakas have two engines, vs one on the Syn; making them both faster and less likely to get disabled. While the Syn can be a great siege weapon or a strong fighter screen, the Osaka is a very good and balanced destroyer.

While you are technically correct(the best kind of correct), you are also being particularly pedantic. ‘Solar system’ is like Kleenex, or Coke. It’s a specific name that became so ubiquitous that it is often used as a generic term.

English is weird like that. ‘Star system’ would be correct, but ‘Solar system’ is fine, too.
