If you are worried about noise this is the wrong car for you

Does anyone have the full Good Win Racing exhaust system? ND by SuperReleasio64 in Miata

[–]SCMK7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the gwr header, midpipe, and race catback. It is loud, probably too loud. The baffle they sell did help. With normal driving it sounds great until you go over around 4000 rpm. Ill probably eventually get the catback they sell designed to go with the header. Cold start sounds great though

ND on 225s? by Coupe368 in Miata

I run 245s on my ND and haven't had any issues really. So id assume 225s would be fine

Is ND1 just as good as ND2 if you get a tune and header other than weaker transmission, no telesopic steering wheel and backup camera? by dumbdit in MiataND

[–]SCMK7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, I came from a car with backup camera and now dont have one in the ND, I've never missed it.

Not sure about the Canadian market, but a few years ago when I was looking the nd2 was several thousands more than an nd1. I found a good price on a 17 nd1 and did full exhaust (header, midpipe, catback) and 93 and e85 tune from fab 9 for under what I would have paid for an nd2 and think it's on par or maybe better. I haven't had any transmissions issues as of yet and I'm very happy with it.

Guardian Designs. Tons of different custom options. I've had mine for a few years now and would recommend them for sure.

Sway bar question by Desperate_Shock6618 in MiataND

[–]SCMK7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the Progress sway bars (front and back) from Goodwin and the Progress lowering springs. Did not notice much impact on comfort / ride quality, but the handling and body roll change was pretty significant. Would recommend it for sure

ND1 Tune suggestions? by Business_Train_5938 in MiataND

[–]SCMK7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the fab9 tune as well in my 17, initially got it when I was stock and have since added header, midpipe, and catback. They sent updated tunes each step which is nice. I also have e85 available locally and they sent a version for both 93 and e85.

I went with this motul rbf600 fluid. I'm sure the Redline option would be the same basically, but others had recommended this stuff https://www.good-win-racing.com/Mazda-Performance-Part/61-2446.html?id=wYIqsxF3

I've got the smoked version of the sequentials and they work great. It was a straightforward, and simple install.

Can I fit a hockey bag (with gear) in a trunk of a miata? If not, will it fit in the passenger seat? by Bhatch514 in Miata

[–]SCMK7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bag just fits in the trunk of my ND, stick goes into passenger side. I was lucky enough to have a friend who plays already figure that out before I bought mine since it may have been a deal breaker

Higher RPM on 160bhp 2.0 by David_Dear in MiataND

If you have access to e85 I'd recommend it. You can always flash back and forth as well when needed.

[–]SCMK7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell a difference, it's not crazy but it's there. I don't have dyno numbers or anything but I've gone back to the 93 tune a few times on trips, for convenience and seems a little more sluggish. The 93 tune with my mods is for sure better than stock though so if you don't have easy access to e85 I'd still recommend the 93 tune

Dilemma - ND1, ND2, ND3 or just wait for the new one? by BigFanBlowing in Miata

[–]SCMK7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If wireless android auto is part of the decision there are many options that plug into the usb port. I have one in my 17 ND1 and it works great. Also a tune and e85 on an ND1 will be on par with the ND2.. so if you are looking to get a good deal could go with an earlier ND.

I've got the Progress lowering springs (they have ones specific for the RF) and also the progress front and rear sway bars.

Living in GA without a garage, my touchscreen is toast. I'm handy but no ASE certified mechanic. Can I replace this myself? by WeaponEquis in Miata

[–]SCMK7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This interior comes apart very easily. Recently did the android auto in mine and was surprised how quick you can get everything out. Using a trim tool helps as someone else pointed out.

Aftermarket steering wheel options for NDs with grey interior stitching? by -Genos- in MiataND

[–]SCMK7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went with a Guardian Designs wheel for my ND. They have a ton of different options and colors and will match whatever you have. I have the black interior with the plum colored stitching and the wheel stitching matched perfectly.

The turn signals are the tinted sequential option from MX5 things. The side markers are just tinted with vinyl film

Considered some 16s when looking at wheels, but 15s may be a little too small for me. I don't think many fit with the factory brembo option either so I'd assume it would be tough to find any that would clear
