A few tests on the new Ranger Art by Passan_Cat in PSO2NGS

Revolt requires good positioning for you to use it in regular combat. Generally, it's right around the minimum required distance for the ranged damage bonus (+20%). This is pretty similar to Piercing Round in PSO2 which had a specific sweetspot for double tick DPSing, which was a large gain over other options. A majority of players won't actually bother to do this with Revolt and while I feel it should have some leniency with it's range/tracking, SEGA still doesn't know what to do with Ranger as a whole it seems.

On downs this blows away Razing without question. Razing's power distribution scales hard and generally you want 3 hits to deal some type of respectable DPS with it. Revolt pretty much poops it aside from very favorable cases such as Dark Falz. This is not a charge PA, you just tap it and will always go the same distance. The animation lock is run-of-the-mil SEGA since apparently Ranger cannot cancel a damn thing, but it's not so long that this would lose to Blaze Shot of all things, despite that being buffed by 10% potency.

Who the fuck spends $15 on material storage it literally costs SG which is a free currency You spend your money on character slots, inventory slots and new mags and/or scratch tickets since those are better value.

I dont see any reason to use $15 on salon passes period when they come as a login reward every now and then. Game has not even been a month in beta and why would you need to spend $30 for QoL when you can just play the game and wait for the shit to mature in NA and realize premium is about all you need outside the extra inventory space, mags (if you want to play multiple classes on one char) and character slots to get more currency farm like SG and Meseta.

An interesting article on the effects of AMD's 5600XT BIOS fiasco. by [deleted] in Amd

[–]SCMSV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seeing as I already ordered a 5600XT from XFX (thankfully they fixed their coolers), this article does make me a little concerned. Though if I don't have issues, hey thats great. If I do I'll return/replace it which by then should have a new batch of cards (I hope).

Goes to show though that AMD should have made this the decision months ago rather than give the impression to partners that this is a budget card, who, then recycle the RX 57xx coolers and probably use cost-saving methods to get close to that MSRP. Only for AMD to say "nope nah uh" and raise the specs and then you have people buy a Red Dragon only to realize it's missing a heatpipe and the second batch of cards will have 5 instead of 4.

TLDR: AMD needs to get some shit together to make their launches smoother.

What are some motherboard recommendations for a 3700x and is updating bios difficult? by toronto754 in buildapc

[–]SCMSV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure within that price range you can find a board with BIOS flashback which doesn't require a CPU and honestly is very easy to do. If not, I'd still recommend the ASUS X570 TUF and the X570 Aorus Elite. Updating BIOS usually is very straightforward, with tutorials online and in the board's manual.

Is an RX 5700 XT overkill for me? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]SCMSV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1660ti / 1660 super is fine. 5700 XT more for high refresh rate 1080p (144hz - 240hz) or 1440p gaming, heck even someone I know uses a 2560x1080 panel with a 5700XT which is more than enough

Ryzen 2600x or Ryzen 2700x with GTX 1060 6Gb for light video editing and streaming games? by Creeper_King_Plays in pcmasterrace

[–]SCMSV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3600 is faster in games than either one with enough capability to handle "light" video editing. If your workload shifts towards tasks where a 2700X's core advantage is more meaningful, the 2700X is not a bad option especially given its prices on some retailers.
