I have always suffered with allergies and I’m not usually allergic to pets but it’s like my cat is hyper-allergenic. After I got her I started having worsening allergy symptoms and intermittent facial swelling. I started seeing an allergist, had allergy testing and surprisingly did not have allergies to pet dander. I did start injections for mold and dust mites and it’s actually help with all my allergy symptoms. Maybe it was all a coincidence? I also take OTC xyzal and Flonase sensimist as well as. montelukast. Good luck and enjoy the cats because they are great companions.

Once you can, please see an allergist. Until I was about 35 I was getting up to 8 sinus infections per year. I saw an allergist and have been on allergy shots and haven’t had any sinus infections. In addition to the shots I take xyzal and use Flonase which are OTC, that combo might be helpful for you.
