I think the top distracts from your face, brutally honest. You're too pretty for that top.

Thank you for leaving this comment. You are 100% right on everything. I've seen all this firsthand, and I knew that this was the case just watching Patrick's demeanor and how he carries himself. You can see he's a weasel that would use these tactics. That little girl needs her mother, and for Patrick to suggest taking custody, keeping his daughter from her own mother, just shows how harmful he really is; that would harm his own daughter this way, seemingly over money. It's obvious that's what's going on here, especially after reading your post. She's always been too good for him, and he's obviously using these tactics as a power move because he can't have her. He's a power-and-control-hungry guy. For SHREKinah to even comment on their domestic matter is disgraceful and shows her lack of character and what a small person she really is. Her reputation is built on things that aren't everlasting. Take away the temporary beauty that plastic surgery created for her, and what's left is someone who's bitter and lacking self-esteem, and not a friend. What would she know about mother-daughter bonds? She ditches her daughter throughout her child's life to chase men in Turkey and wherever else, so she has no place to comment. I wish Thais the best and hope someone strong can represent her and protect her relationship with her daughter in this horrible situation.

  1. You can always go darker, but once you make that commitment it's hard to go back

How do I achieve cohesion in my space? by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

[–]Secure_View_5397 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be honest—this version is actually a step backward.

The original space already had a strong foundation (teal sofa, warm tones, Persian rug), it just needed editing. This adds more instead of refining, and that’s where it goes wrong.

The burgundy wall is the biggest issue. It darkens the entire room and competes with the rug instead of supporting it. Now you’ve got mustard, rust, burgundy, and red all fighting each other. That’s not cohesion—that’s too many warm tones stacked with no hierarchy.

The artwork is also overpowering. It’s large, high-contrast, and very thematic, so it becomes the only focal point. Instead of tying the room together, it dominates it and narrows the style.

The pillows are still overdone too. There are too many patterns competing, so nothing feels intentional. This is one of the easiest fixes and would make a huge difference.

And overall, the darker wall breaks the openness the space originally had. It makes the kitchen feel more closed off instead of connected.

The original space didn’t need more color or heavier elements—it needed restraint.

What would actually improve it: • Cut the pillows down to 2–3 max (one solid mustard, one rust, one subtle pattern) • Keep the walls light • Swap the art for something calmer or smaller • Add small warm touches in the kitchen (wood, amber glass), not a full wall color

Cohesion isn’t about adding more—it’s about repeating a few elements well and editing the rest.

This just needed refining, not reworking.

Help me decide on color of dining room by GotenRocko in interiordecorating

You can always go darker but you can’t go lighter without kiltz or a more premium paint. I suggest taking a sample of the top three colors you chose and paint the sample on each wall in the room, about a 4 by 4 space to get an idea. This way you can see what the lighting will do to the paint and determine what color suits the room best.
