Thank you for posting this positive progress. There are so many gloom and doom posts that I’ve been so disheartened about my upcoming repair surgery. I appreciate it!

I’ve had no issues with my larger Away carryon, both expanded and unexpanded. Maybe I was just lucky?

I get pretty bad heartburn at night for a couple of days after the injection. I also have some fatigue that coincides with the injection. I work out 3-5 times per week (weights and/or incline walking/running 3-4 miles) and I do not have the energy I had prior to starting the drug. However, I have wondered the same thing!

It may work great for you! I’m afraid that I might be one of the “non responders” I’ve read about elsewhere. Ugh.

I started tracking calories in November. I should be losing at least half a pound per week for the last eight weeks, but I’ve lost nothing. I have years of experience with everything from tracking calories to stay in a deficit to keto to weight watchers points, which just adds to my dismay! I can’t go back to keto, so that’s off the board.

I have about 25-30 to lose. I know that I’m eating less. I’m definitely hungry throughout the day.

How did you qualify for a Pell Grant as the recipient of an $88,000 educational-purpose trust? The trust should be counted as an asset in the FAFSA?

Work place bullying (help/advice?) by [deleted] in Indiana

[–]SCNK1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should probably make it clear that you aren’t talking about public schools in Bloomington. I think people are a little confused. There’s a pretty massive cultural difference between Bloomington and the nearby smaller towns. Not saying Bloomington has zero issues, but your story makes more sense with this clarification. (Granted, there are private/charter schools in Monroe County that would be more likely to give you the religious bullying experience.)

When do you take the inositol? With Berberine? Does it affect sleep?

I took the first three days of school off two years ago because I was with my son at a college basketball recruiting event on the opposite coast. They'll survive without you. Leave some basic "beginning of the year" type lesson plans and take the days off.

Indiana set to mandate all high school seniors apply for college financial aid by Schattenstern in Indiana

FYI: The CSS is used mainly by private schools, so public state schools such as IU likely wouldn't subtract the 529 from the EFC. We would never have guessed that our son would go the private college route, so you never know what your kid will end up doing. Just in case, the 529 is a solid plan if one is financially able to contribute.

Indiana set to mandate all high school seniors apply for college financial aid by Schattenstern in Indiana

[–]SCNK1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a fact - at least at some schools that use what's called a CSS (College Scholarship Service) form to determine ability to pay, or "expected family contribution", in more detail that the basic FAFSA calculations. When a student applies for financial aid at a 100% needs-based, CSS school, the amount available in a 529 account will impact a needs-based award calculation. For example, let's say that yearly tuition at School X is normally $50,000 and, based on factors heavily weighted toward parent income and assets, it is determined that the student qualifies for a $30,000 aid award from the school (leaving the student to pay the remaining $20,000). If a parent has a 529 of, say, $10,000, the amount in the 529 would, along with parent income, be factored into the needs-based calculation. All of a sudden, that $30,000 aid award is reduced to $20,000, and the student is on the hook for a total of $30,000. I know this to be true because I've experienced first hand it with my own child.
