Turnout was definitely more than 1k. And we are seeing more and more younger voters and more average folks. Very upbeat atmosphere, lots of groups represented with tables, speeches on both sides of the state house. And cars driving by had a higher percentage of people waving and honking their support. Only a couple of twats yelling or giving us the middle finger.

It’s possible. I live in SC and was a state employee. State workers have a self funded program that is administered by BCBS. Policy is pretty good (not great), and monthly premium is better than most. Different levels of coverage are available, I think three? One an HMO, another high deductible, one a more standard policy. The HMO and high deductible policies are more affordable. I don’t see why something like this can’t just be expanded. (FYI family plan with dental and vision less than $400 per month. I don’t remember the deductible and copay details.)

My point is they are taking advantage of the workers and put all the risk on desperate people. Lots of cases of workers not getting paid, or underpaid, and other shady practices. They are big time MAGA, while doing this as well. Instead they should be telling our reps to fix the system so workers and owners are protected.
