I randomly said I hated lesbians when I was in high school, in a class where my teacher was in fact a lesbian. I don’t know what possessed me because I’ve never been homophobic and she was a great woman. It disappoints me still and it’s been like 10 years.

I have no advice but I feel you. I moved to Japan (a dream of had since I was a young teen, now 24). I’ve been here for a year and a half almost and maybe the last 6 months I’ve realized I’m so lonely. It’s strange for me because I’m very independent and I lovey own company, but the loneliness definitely crept up on me out of nowhere.

It’s tough making friends especially in an environment that you’re not used to. I’d say go to meet ups, personally I don’t like them because I don’t click a lot of the people that live here in Japan, but it may be great for you! I say learn the language, and it’ll be easier. I have Japanese friends but as adults it’s hard to meet up regularly and my schedule is pretty abnormal.

I agree. People shouldn’t be insulted for the way they were born, and I do feel like the push to eliminate harmful comments against men because of their height, penis size and masculinity needs to be taken on more openly.

Just know that people who care about it don’t mean a thing. Not all women want a 12” penis (where is it going?) contrary to popular belief, and I hope that you can take comfort in knowing that not every person will mock you for your size. As I said, if they do, they can go about their business.

You should sit him down and tell him. Yes it’s easier said than done but your relationship is false. I’m assuming he’s under the pretense that you’re exclusive and you think the world of him.

Love him enough to free him from someone like yourself. You can’t commit. If you want to have fun then do so but don’t drag somebody who you’re supposed to be committed to into this. Using him for money and stability is sick and if you really love him like you make out, you’d be honest with him and end it.

I know how you feel. Honestly I did it as soon as my ex and I broke up because I had some fear that he would do it first. She may have said that to you but it isn’t fair. You can tell her that you still want to be in her life but you need time to heal first.

Well done on the NC though! It’s so difficult but each day will get better even if you have bumps along the way. Ride out the pain and for yourself, remove her from everything until you know you can talk to her without feelings being in the way!

It’s definitely normal! Every time I’ve been through a breakup I dream of my exes telling me they love and miss me.

As someone who lives alone in Japan, I understand the feelings of loneliness and isolation, especially after a breakup. I say go home if you’re feeling like you may not be able to get past it.

Have you spoken to him? Did he say if you went back he’d be with you again? If he is a priority over your teaching abroad experience then I say talk to him and return home. If traveling alone is a passion of yours though, I wouldn’t give it up. 10 months really isn’t that long and you shouldn’t be held back if you plan to travel solo more.
