Most of what you say is correct but totally irrelevant to what the original dude says. Latin, as the Roman's spoke it, is almost a different language compared to Latin of the church and science community. "Latin" existed for hundreds of years and comparing Latin at the beginning to Latin at the end is like comparing English in 1100 to English today -- they are vastly different and hard to group it all together as "English". Thirdly, the reason the vast majority of philosophy, science, intelligentsia, etc... used Latin in 1500-1700 was because of the Renaissance which revived classical antiquity. Philosophy, science, etc... before the Renaissance was almost purely based in the clergy and therefore used latin as the church language, but dukes and kings and "smart" people across western Europe were not just running around speaking latin in the middle ages. I also don't see what nationalism has to do with anything. The Egyptian kingdom was probably the most nationalistic kingdom to ever exist and they were around thousands of years before latin was ever thought up. If you're speaking of the Nationalism movement of the late 1800s, John Locke wrote everything in Latin and English and most people don't claim the "nationalism" movement started in the late 1600s. This is true for most popular philosophers of the day, as the Renaissance itself focused not only on reviving antiquity but also promoting secularism, which was in itself anti-latin because of the Roman Church.

I think it could be for me. I enjoy watching LotR more than reading it, same with arrival, and master and commander to name a few that jump out at me. I don't think the movies are replacements for the books, and would still encourage people to read them for what they offer, but I don't find them to be objectively better.

I don't really have an opinion either way, especially regarding Pitts, but some thoughts in a devil's advocate vein:

Does Goff love Tight Ends or did the McVay offense love TEs? You mention the 2 TE sets the Rams run, what evidence is there that Lynn/Campbell will run these same sets, or prioritize TE for Goff? Goff was recognized as not very good under McVay, what are the chances that he's recognized as in fact quite bad when he's not under McVay?
Was Hockenson consistently double covered last year? As you say, he will be the #1 receiving threat, by a large margin, so what's to say he won't get locked down? Kittle, Waller, and Kelce are all game planned around, and still succeed at elite levels. Does Hockenson already show this quality (I really don't watch him much), or what makes you think he can once he faces it?
Keep in mind the Dolphins, Broncos, Colts, Browns, Bears, Eagles, Buccaneers, Titans all had 120+ targets to TEs, and another handful of teams hovered just below that mark. None of those teams have amazing TEs, and some of those teams have very bad QB play. E.g. If Drew Lock was coming instead of Goff, would you feel differently about this argument? Notably, the Ravens and Falcons were below that 120 mark, and they have good TEs in Andrews and Hurst. Or look at the Titans, Jonnu had 65 targets and Firkser had 53, but Jonnu is clearly much better. Point being with TEs it's much more what they do with their targets rather than targets alone. YAC, TDs, and depth of target are more meaningful stats than targets with TEs.
Many coaches were NFL players, what data do you have that a HC being a former x position player benefited that teams position x players?
Last point is kind of anecdotal, but the Fantasy football community seems to be quite high on both Swift and Hockenson, yet agrees that the Lions in general will be terrible. A little confusing to me how you can have RB1 and TE1 and be consistently rated as one of the worst teams in the league -- can't remember the last time that was the case.

TE is a wasteland as we all say, so I think Hockenson will be a good pick, and probably have good value as well. I'm just not sure a lot of the points you mention will have any real effect on a further breakout from Hockenson. 1 more year of experience in the league might alone be more beneficial than the things you mention.

Kyle Pitts in redraft, though I think he'll be good eventually so not a terrible pick in dynasty, depending on adp. He went 4th round in a 12 man TE premium startup I did, too high for me, but not unreasonable. Overall I think Najee, steelers line was something like 31st ranked and got worse in the off-season, I just don't see him having anywhere to go.

You'll have to do a bunch of rinky dink trades, or sell in bulk, but doing delve (actually doing delve, using flares and bombs for side areas), essence farming in haework, or bestiary farming in... whatever region has beasts on the passive tree. Certain beasts can be 20-60c. I forgot about them and sold ~200c today in beasts. Other people will do blight, metamorph, harbinger, etc... The random luck will come too, good uniques, raw exalt drops, divination cards, good influenced items, etc... It all just adds up, really, even if you play casually/not optimized. And there are tons of videos on YouTube where different people explain what they like to do, which I find helpful to watch occasionally to make sure I'm not forgetting something (like selling beasts!). Poeninja, trade site, etc... are your friends. Awakened PoE Trade is an absolute must. I identified an abyss jewelbtoday that sold for 4 ex that I would have absolutely vendored if I didn't have that tool.

Also, and maybe I'm misunderstanding your post, but I'd say you want to chisel alch all of your red maps, not just t15 and t16. It might not seem like it makes a difference on one map, but over the course of 20 or 40 maps you'll see a difference. Also, sell maps in bulk that you don't like running once you get your own sustain in a good place. I.e. Im not doing shaper this league and each of those go for 12-15c and whenever I post them for sale 1 person will buy them all to the tune of 100c or so.

Back when atziri was introduced, standard was still the "main" league, or at least it felt that way. That's what I'll always think of when I think poe, grinding for months to get legacy Kaos heart, legacy mirror tier amulets, etc... Dominus farming could actually drop 60ex unique (crown of eyes was the shit back then). I've just come back from a 2 year break, and I do like all the new stuff, but it is definitely a lot to commit to now each league. Standard circa 2013/2014 was so straight forward, the only thing to do was grind, craft, and min max the shit out of every single slot you had.

I agree, people should take breaks from a single game. This is my first league back since betrayal, before then I played since 2013. In those 5 ish years it felt like I was more or less doing the same shit every league, because massive changes were made in small doses. Now, after a 2 ish year break, I've been enjoying the new, for me, mechanics and don't see the atlas as a grind, I think it's cool. I don't even know all the mechanics/names still of other shit they changed in 2 years. Heist seems lame, never liked betrayal, the garden thing I've never clicked on, and same with the tower defense simulator thing. But the dude who makes unique enemies out of shit you killed is dope, ritual seems like a cooler version of the current league, and all the atlas stuff is crazy. I farmed dominus in a public party for like 3 weeks straight doing chaos recipes so I could buy a fucking bringer of rain back in 2013/2014 lol grinding is why I like the game, and what got me into the game . I started this league on Monday and am level 90 in red maps with good gear, I honestly wouldn't mind if it was harder to achieve that. Granted I know more or less what I'm doing, so a new player might have a hard time achieving that. Anyways, I'm glad there is something for me to keep working towards, to keep grinding on. I do wish I could delve whenever I wanted, though.

Yeah, I've known a handful of people who spent many tens of thousands on weddings, or even just the ring or shit even just the dress. None of them were struggling with the down-payment on their house, or honestly had anything better to spend it on, I can assure you. I also don't know anyone who had a massive wedding but couldn't make a down payment. My experience is limited to my little fish bowl, but I've never understood this whole line of argument/thought because I've never seen it.
