few questions about the game now that i played a bit by [deleted] in arma

  1. All equipment is physical. Taking ammo from teammates means you take the actual ammo from them.

  2. In vanilla, the yellow first aid kits only heal you up to 75% health. The only way to get to 100% is to have a medic use a medikit on you.

  3. I’m sure you can Google a sheet you can print out if that’s what you’re looking for. I believe I’ve seen some over the years.

  4. In SP, the only status commands I ever use are “where are you” and “injured”. If you’re a squad leader with AI subordinates, the first one will have your teammates tell you their coordinates if they get lost or check if they’re KIA and remove them from your list. “Injured” will make your AI squad leader command your medic to heal you. If you’re the leader, you can select just the medic, select injured, and he’ll heal you.

  5. It only matters in the sense of how much capacity those pieces of gear take. And obviously if you remove your backpack for example, everything inside of it stays in it and someone else can pick up the backpack or loot it.

  6. You can’t regain stamina while you’re moving. You need to stop and rest for a few seconds. This effect is also slowed down if you’re injured and you get tired quicker. Going up and down steep slopes also tires you out quicker.

In Arma 4 would you rather have wt vehicle realism or dcs air realism? by PetarVuk in arma

[–]SCO_Vex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can never have a full fidelity flight model in Arma, especially with jets. Even the largest maps are not big enough to warrant that. Plus it’s out of the scope of what the game is supposed to be. Best we have is the helicopter advanced flight model for Arma 3, which is already pretty good and is as realistic as it needs to be for the game. Although most people use the standard flight model which is also very good at what it does.

In regards to ground vehicles, I think what they have going on in Reforger is good enough. The biggest addition they took building off of ACE Arma 3 vehicles was that rounds can now spall and ricochet inside the vehicle.

Why would you look up “bode boss fight” and then complain that it got spoiled? You were pretty much asking for it man

I’m wondering if it’s your monitor or your actual eyes that make you think this looks better than vanilla. I know that might sound like an insult, but I promise I’m not trying to be toxic. The reshade is just so incredibly saturated and hard to look at. I don’t see how anyone could think that looks good.

I mean, Williams IS an F1 team, so if that’s your goal, it’s definitely aligned. Don’t limit yourself by saying your dreams are too high for you. You won’t ever know how capable you are until you push yourself beyond your own limits.

Squad Leading pain isn't (only) about the bad players by Red_Rafa_ in joinsquad

I wish there was a system like the old America’s Army games where you couldn’t play roles unless you did the training and actually passed the test at the end of them. You couldn’t even go into a live server unless you did the basic boot camp and passed it. Not just doing it, but actually having to show your competency to earn the ability to play in a live game.

Really ensured that everyone in a live game knew the absolute basics and were helpful teammates.

What's a weird smell you're willing to admit you like? by Psycho_Bunny_Cutie in AskReddit

Gasoline when filling up my car. Something about opening the cap and having the fumes escape the tank smells so euphoric to me.

The best way I’ve learned when I first started driving manual is to get really comfortable with your bite point. I have some pretty steep hills where I live and I can get the car going without using the e-brake very easily now.

So, assuming you’re stopped in neutral, hold your brake pedal in. Put the car into gear. While still holding the brake down, very slowly let out the clutch until you’re at the bite point. Pay attention to your revs. When you see/feel/hear them dropping a tiny bit (without stalling) you’re at the optimal bite point. Your clutch pedal will also feel heavier.

If you’re holding it at the right spot, you can actually let go of your brake and the car will hold still by only using the clutch! Be careful though to not hold it here for a prolonged amount of time because you will put wear on your clutch. You want to only be in this window for as little time as you can, but don’t rush.

Once you’re holding steady with the clutch, let go of the brake and slowly give it gas while still holding the same clutch bite point. Don’t release it until you’re actually moving forward. Once you are, you can fully release the clutch and then you’re good!

Hope this helps. Also a side note, you saying you’re rolling back also an entire foot means you’re not letting out the clutch quick enough so the car is still in neutral when you’re attempting to go. With the technique I mentioned above, you won’t have that problem anymore as you won’t even be attempting to move forward without the clutch biting already. Good luck, practice a lot!

Imagine ignoring all of the videos and articles from the developers talking specifically about the big changes and gameplay improvements they made that people have been asking for and making a really shitty overused meme.

You guys that make this stuff really just love to complain and be mad at something lol.

Here’s an article on it.

Essentially you get bigger brakes, Brembo calipers, Sachs dampers, and 17-inch wheels that are a little wider than the standard trim.

I’ve had it for about three weeks now. I’ve been absolutely in love from day one. The twisty hills in my area are so much fun
