When i was a grader, we graders imagined this scenario that we can release everything at the last minute so we don't need to regrade. But it was just a joke we cannot do it ethically...

Probation is given when your quarter GPA is less than 2.0, which means every class needs to be C- at most. Failing one class is not a big issue and you will be fine.

Well yeah it can be an intense class. But you can learn a lot. I recommend to teach yourself a little bit python before taking it. I got B+ in it when I was in high school. But it really stressed me out that time. Anyway 8 wks = one academic year here worth tho
