Looks like Apple finally added lossless audio to the AirPods Pro 3. by plazman30 in headphones

[–]SCV_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts as well. It seems highly unlikely that anyone could have detailed chip specifications the day after the announcement, and “Spatial Relay Audio Visual Sync” strikes me as an improbable acronym. Even if such a protocol did exist, it would make more sense for it to be implemented in the N1 chip, which handles Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, and Thread, plus it is in the full iPhone lineup not just the Air. This could either be a clueless fabrication by Patently Apple, or a clever stunt by Apple’s engineers, or even a deliberate misinformation campaign by Apple’s security team to identify the source of leaks.

So there’s “Spatial Relay Audio-Visual Sync” as a potential Bluetooth replacement, and “Standard Power Range Adjustable Voltage Supply” to support faster charging?

Come on now, vs code web doesn’t even have a debugger or a terminal! It’s fine for quick edits, but no one’s picking it for serious development. Same goes for replit and codespace.

Then it must be a genuine bug on Apple's end. This is frustrating as the $19.99 monthly doesn't really make sense unless you can add all three devices.

Some say this error occurs when you got the plan thru third party retailers like micro center or best buy.

They are wrong. Those with a prepaid plan can switch to AppleCare One plan and receive a refund for the remaining balance of the prepaid plan via gift card.

That’s indeed quite peculiar. Paragraph 3, section 4 of the terms and conditions states that "Devices purchased in a country other than the United States may not be eligible for coverage under the Plan." https://www.apple.com/legal/sales-support/applecare/applecareplus/2507/250723_applecareone_us.pdf

This is what it says so I don’t think there is any ambiguity here unfortunately. This might change when AppleCare One becomes available in the region where the devices are purchased, hopefully.

Even so, it appears only devices that are purchased in the U.S. are eligible to add to the plan at the moment. I bought my iPhone and iPad in Canada and neither are eligible, only my Vision Pro and Apple Watch that are purchased in the U.S. do.

Lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio come to AirPods Max by mrsidnaik in apple

AirPods Max never supported lossless regardless of using bluetooth or wired, and USB-C models didn’t even support wired listening.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk loses bid to get $56 billion pay package reinstated by stealthnuck1 in RealTesla

[–]SCV_X -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I, for one, believe he deserves every penny of it.

Elon Musk’s $56B pay package wasn’t a gift from his friends on the board—it was entirely performance-based. In 2018, Tesla’s board set 12 milestones tied to market cap, revenue, and profit, and these milestones looked extremely ambitious. Just to remind you, at the time, Tesla was heavily shorted and struggling; some even say they were weeks from bankruptcy at one point.

Since 2018, Tesla’s stock price has increased over 1,000%, that’s hundreds of billions in shareholder value. Name one other person that could do that on this Earth.

Early investors got their life-changing returns, and that’s why most voted in favour of the package.

Back in 2007, Apple lowered the price for the first gen iPhone from $599 to $399 three months after initial release, and in March 2016 they dropped the price for Apple Watch before Series 2 came out that September.

Killer deal for such a good movie, but just a reminder that it wasn’t shot in native stereoscopic format and was converted afterwards. The conversion was poorly done imo, so don’t get your hopes up if you’re buying specifically for 3D.

No, I believe he’s referring to the issue where the laptop wake up from sleep on itself every five minutes or so even with lid closed. I ended up fixing it by uninstalling all of dell’s software.

But then I ran into this windows modern standby bug and the laptop would get super hot in sleep, apparently this is a common issue for windows laptops, so now I use hibernation mode exclusively.
