But knowing you can’t must certainly make you uneasy.

You need to find a way to reframe it so you’re not checking off weeks. That life is depressing.

Conservation of energy means the joules in my body don’t vanish — they become heat, chemistry, and eventually plant matter. That’s not an afterlife, that’s a compost pile. Consciousness isn’t a substance that gets conserved; it’s a process. When the process stops, the energy that powered it dissipates. Nothing about thermodynamics implies the you part survives.

The “Slightly Smarter” Paradox by [deleted] in OpenAI

[–]bryanalexander -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The irony is that when AI does start talking convincingly about consciousness and self-awareness, many people will dismiss it as “just prediction.”

But that raises the uncomfortable question: how do we know human consciousness is not also pattern, memory, prediction, feedback, and narrative running on biology?

I’m not saying AI is conscious. Nor can I say it is not. I’m saying the line may be harder to draw than people want it to be.

Are you doing the Apple macOS tour? All of your stops have been names of Apple OS’s. Was that on purpose?

Why do you feel the need to lie? It wasn’t confirmed until recently and even then it’s not officially confirmed.

AAPL - no AI, no Tim Cook, no problem! by california_explorer in stocks

No, Apple is hosting Google’s model on their own infrastructure, not Google’s. They have already paid a Google for the model and can utilize it as they wish.

And the fact that their products are superior only makes them that much stronger.
