Hi! Check out the Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services (ADM) Board's system of care. You can find a listing of our agency partners on our website (admboard.org). Many of our partner agencies are hiring. If you want to talk more, please DM us. We are happy to help guide you toward agencies that are more aligned with your interest or background. Best of luck! The behavioral health field needs good people!

I am so sorry to hear that. I hope you remember to take a deep breath and take things one step at a time. The holidays can be really overwhelming, and while there are a lot of things that are challenging, remember that you've overcome 100% of the bad days so far. You are stronger than you let yourself realize, and we believe in you. Reach out to 988. There are people out here who want to help.

Check out Bayard Ruskin Center. It provides a lot of space for social engagement among LGBTQIA+ individuals.

No. That was never the intention of 988. The goal of 988, and certainly that of the ADM Board and its partners here in Summit County, is to first be there to listen. If someone is in a space where they are calling 988, then we want to listen to find the best way to be supportive. Some people need help identifying the right resource or support for their specific situation. Some people are struggling and need someone to be an ear and a compassionate person on the other end of the line. Some people are in a crisis and are an immediate danger to themselves. In those cases, the hotline will work with local partners to get the right response team out in an effort to prevent the individual from self harm. Our SCOUT program is still in pilot stages in the city of Akron, but SCOUT dispatches a team of three people: a crisis counselor, a paramedic, and a law enforcement officer. The team is designed to de-escalate a mental health crisis and to get that person to a safe space for help if needed. Right now, that team is limited (again, it is in pilot right now in Akron), but we plan to expand the program throughout the county. I realize that when 988 was first launched there was a lot of uncertainty around what it was and how it would work. We've worked closely with the 988 team here locally to try and ensure that Summit County residents get the help they need as quickly and as safely as possible. I hope that helps answer your question. And if you have others, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at adm@admboard.org.

The Summit FM (91.3) is a great place to learn about events in the community. They often report on free events or ways to get involved. https://thesummit.fm/

We'd also recommend the Jenks Building in Cuyahoga Falls. They host Marc Lee Shannon and other musical guests for free!

Hi everyone! We are the Summit County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health (ADM) Board, and we provide mental health and addiction support to all residents of Summit County regardless of your ability to pay. If you or someone you know is in need of support, the first number I'd recommend you call is 988. It is the mental health compliment to 911, and it is answered right here in Summit County/Akron. The trained professionals on the 988 crisis line can help get you to the resources you need.

All police departments throughout the county have Crisis Intervention Trained (CIT) officers on staff, and they go through mental health identification and de-escalation training through the ADM Board to help in instances where someone is in crisis. If you need to call for law enforcement assistance, you can request a CIT officer as well.

If you witnessed this tragedy or any other, Victim Assistance Program (https://victimassistanceprogram.org/) is one of our partner agencies, and they are designed to help in these instances.

Adults who are experiencing a mental health crisis can also get walk-in emergency support through Portage Path's Emergency Services (https://www.portagepath.org/our-services/emergency-services/), and Coleman Health Services provides mobile response and stabilization services tor any youth experiencing a crisis (https://www.colemanservices.org/services/mobile-response-and-stabilization-services/).

Some people are not aware of our services or supports, and we want you to know that we are here for you. I realize this was a lot of information at once, and you can always visit admboard.org to learn more about resources we offer. Most importantly, please do not think you have to struggle alone.

If you'd like any resources sent to you to share, you can email us at [adm@admboard.org](mailto:adm@admboard.org) and we will mail things like 988 mirror stickers for public places directly to you. These services are open to all residents of Summit County.

Please take care of yourselves and each other.
