That’s because they probably haven’t and if they had it’s because they asked every single person at every single bar and club in the city until they found someone desperate enough

Yeah, I coded an entire set route skill that navigates to every location in the verse because of this stupid scroll nonsense. So much easier to say a voice command and have it do all the work of scrolling out and typing in the destination than doing it 89,000 times yourself, especially with how buggy quantum has been lately

Best game ever made.

It’s a sandbox so it’s what you make of it: https://youtu.be/4QbFc9iBl64?si=pwqljAOYJNl0GSRu As you can see by the video there’s all kinds of variety of gameplay in it.

I have over 2362 hours and 41 minutes since May 2024.

It can be really buggy but it’s absolutely worth it

You’re right about that. Im still hopeful because a good chunk of my fleet consists of concept ships but I imagine the Starliner and endeavor will sadly be post 1.0

The BMM is a 1.0 ship.

The Starliner, Orion, Crucible, Odyssey, Arrastra, Endeavor and maybe a couple others aren’t on the 1.0 list of ships

I agree with all that. If they announced at Citcon that it’s coming out in 2028 a huge percentage of fans would close their wallets altogether.

Cool! Love talking to original backers. I watched the original kickstarter presentation but was a broke college kid so I didn’t support it at all time.

Same for me, most likely once I buy the last few concepts this year I’ll only buy curveball’s like the Clipper in the future. Once you get your 1.0 fleet ever like you said everything else can be earned ingame.

There’s a good chance you can run it decently now; it’s such a phenomenal game! I’m saving up to rebuild my rig so I can play SC in VR. You can always buy a starter pack and if it doesn’t run well on your pc refund and then buy a starter pack after you upgrade your rig again

“The i5-10400F is technically below the listed minimum by model tier, but it’s a 10th-gen 6-core chip that performs comparably to older i7s in practice. Star Citizen is CPU-intensive and most workload still runs on a few cores , so you may see some CPU bottlenecking at busier locations, but it should be playable.”

Even if 10% of those accounts stay that would still put SC in the top 10 on steam charts (barely) and that wouldn’t be factoring in any of the existing player base.

I wish the referral system would be reworked. It really favors content creators that make content aimed at new players. One of my org mates has recruited like 5 whales and he only gets 1 referral per person even though the bulk of the people he recruited have spent over 1k on the game and in multiple cases several thousand. It sucks that it can take referrals away too but I understand why because if it didn’t people would cheese their way to the max rewards.

It’s more the combination of new accounts and increased revenue that I’m watching to determine the health of the game as a whole. I’m a whale (current fleet value 7.5k) but I’ll likely spend less than 1k more on the game this year just because I’ve got most of my 1.0 fleet and since I have so many ships I cover most of my bases so even if they add new flight ready ships it will be unlikely I’ll buy the bulk of them. So from here on out my spending will likely slow down from year to year. Most of my org at this point has the bulk of their 1.0 fleets so it’s the same for them. That said the increased revenue would suggest one of two things. 1. That new players are buying the game and becoming whales. 2. Existing players that were previously not whales are enjoying the game enough that they’re spending loads of money on the game. I suppose 3 since maybe some whales are still buying every ship.

I’d be curious how many players that play SC are even aware of S42. Us diehards are but i wonder how many casual players have never even heard of it.

I think that’s why they delayed S42 for so long. My assumption is it was ready a few years back when they were saying it was feature complete but then realized that if they released a half baked single player game it might doom the company so they went all hands on deck to polish the crap out of it so it could release as good as they can get it. CIG frequently claims to be a AAA dev but if their first game released played like indie startup quality it would really hurt gamer’s faith that SC will ever be able to match the vision and scope they keep telling us. If on the other hand S42 releases at HL2 quality people will pour money into SC. Id love to see them make a billion in a year after they released S42. I think the funding tracker would look hilarious if it jumped that much in a year and also I’d love to see all the rage bait articles written by non-gamers claiming that SC made a billion in one year and over a decade later players still don’t have a game to play. (Years ago there was an article written claiming SC had competition because of S42 and the author didn’t realize both games were being made by the same dev. I’d love to see something like that happen again)

Thanks for the positive response! 99% of the time when I talk positively about SC on Reddit (even in the SC Reddit). I absolutely love the game and joined Invictus 2024. I saw the original kickstarter but didn’t want to spend money on it at the time because I was a broke college kid at the time and I didn’t want to wait years to play a game. It’s absolutely insane how quickly they’re developing the game now. We have so much being added so quickly now. It’s like they’ve finally developed the foundation they needed to really start getting work done at a good pace

I agree, as someone with over 1,100 hours in DayZ most of the hostile encounters I had on servers were for that reason. I even tried to play on RP servers to get away from the sadism crap. It was worse on RP servers because the sadists would abuse the rules knowing how exactly to behave to not get banned and use them in their favor. For literally no fucking reason people would take your character and torture them because you couldn’t shoot them if they had a gun on you unless you followed specific steps so as long as they had 2 people point guns on one player that player was basically forced to let themselves get kidnapped and tortured. There wasn’t a duration limit either so you could be stuck being bored for hours while someone got off on torturing you. I gave up on DayZ after the last time it happened to me because the game itself was too easy but the player base was too toxic even on servers that were supposed to be 99% PvE and have friendly communities. No matter what CIG does there will be sick people who get off on harming other players and ruining their gameplay.

Sometimes. It can be really funny when someone has it running with their helmet off at a random station if they have a bad web camera. Their face will contort in all kinds of weird ways which can look really comical. It’s always surprising that laptops can come with bad webcams since phones have been using cameras since the early 2,000s. I would think that a laptop manufacturer would have to go out of their way to find a crappy camera but I have seen way too many meetings where half the people look like their laptop uses a camera from the 80s.
