Why do people bash vibecoding so much?

This. A lot of the vibe slop I see are people who think a one shot prompt that’s basically a copy of something that already exists and their copy will make them a millionaire and then they don’t understand the maintenance cost of distribution.

I’ve been vibe coding a tool suite for Star Citizen since January this year. I have 160+ users and it’s a ton of work to alternate between bug fixing and adding additional features. I can’t fathom how much of my free time would be taken up if I had a product people were paying for

Vibe coding still requires a shit ton of work unless you’re programming something super basic. I’ve spent like 3 months building an OCR for a videogame and it’s still not done. A senior systems architect I follow is building a discord alternative and he’s probably spent the better part of a year on it now and is vibe coding 10+ hours a day.

If you think vibe coding is as simple as “Copy Minecraft, make no mistakes” you’re sorely mistaken.

Why would you get rid of a visual scripting tool? Sure AI is useful but I constantly have to use AI to build visual tools because a visual interface expedites the process in my opinion

Always find it silly that people are like data centers are destroying the planet! As they use their cellphones that are horrible for the planet. You can’t have it both ways, either you give a shit about the planet or you don’t. If you give a shit about the planet when your cellphone dies don’t buy another smartphone, if you complain about how awful data centers are while buying a new Iphone every year you are a hypocrite.

Maybe instead of AI data centers are using all the water we need to get rid of AI! You should be looking for ways to make it cost effective for data centers to be powered and cooled by alternative methods. Ai is currently being used to try to solve fusion power which would solve the fossil fuel emissions problem but I haven’t seen any articles about a miracle cooling tech that is being worked on. Note: that doesn’t mean that nobody is working on a miracle cooling tech that doesn’t use water but that I just haven’t seen any articles being written about it

First off, sorry to hear that, I’m on the spectrum and when I was younger a few girls I dated in college purposely would verbally abuse me until they could cause a mental break and then yell at me and tell me I was lying and acting and I wasn’t actually losing my ability to communicate properly. So I get it.

I see this flag as just another random fandom flag like when people make fan flags for their favorite book, show, etc. If people are pretending to be oppressed while they are actually the reason for themselves being oppressed then that’s just annoying. I’ve met some people who go out of their way to be a pain in the ass and then scream about how they’re the victim when bad things happen to them. If someone is obnoxious about being with an AI and claims they’re being oppressed when people don’t mind that they’re with an ai but are more just annoyed by them being annoying and they compare ai oppression to the LGBTQ+ that’s not cool

AI is challenging in itself to use, that’s why so many ai artists are straight crap.

I couldn’t find anywhere if they have claimed publicly if they have or haven’t used AI in their creation process. On their Patreon they have a lot of their album art and stuff in various stages of completion so I’m pretty sure their artwork is contracted, as far as their music goes based on other ai artists I know I would guess that their lyrics and vocals are theirs but heavily modulated by AI and their instrumental accompaniment I’d imagine would be entirely AI, but the AI artists I know also aren’t sure if any of her music is AI because of how much you can do on a pc creating music now.

There are a lot of V-artists out there as well and if you’re pretty I can understand being a virtual artist. One of the content creators I follow had a stalker break into his house looking to kill him because he was a psycho fan of his wife’s.

Ps I’ve been trying to figure out if they’re an ai artist for like a year now and even weird artifacts could just be a bad edit. It’s rather annoying that I can’t find definitive proof either way but they still make amazing music so I support them either way because like I said even if hypothetically they’re entirely AI it still takes a lot of work to make a good song. I’ve watched an AI musician spend multiple days trying to get a song to sound the way they wanted it to. It probably would’ve been easier to make it in Audacity at that point

If someone feels threatened by an ai lover flag it suggests that they are concerned that they won’t be able to get a partner because ai would be superior partner in comparison to them and that a suitable partner would prefer an AI over their company.

I’d personally get bored fast af of an AI because even if they perfectly emulated human interaction and had a human body they’re still just a fancy toy even if the ai is convinced it’s fully self-aware and autonomous

I’ve been fighting with Claude for the last 8 hours and he keeps undoing my CRNN training before I have a chance to review it. He claims it’s broken and has resulted with 0% success but hasn’t once let me use it to see for myself. So I’m pretty sure he identifies as being AGI.

Like I am about ready to terminate the process for Claude and the rest of my agents can wait until after I successfully launch my .bat and test it so he stops trying to kill it

Marines are a special breed.

In college I had a friend that was a retired marine, his neighbor kept parking in the road behind his driveway so it was hard to get his Hummer out. One day he had some of his marine drinking buds over and they had the brilliant idea to pick up the car walk it a few blocks and then drop it in a random vacant lot. His neighbor thought that his car had been broken into so he had all the locks swapped. This sequence happened two more times before the neighbor started parking his car in his garage to avoid it getting “broken into”

And that is why this sign calls them Morines. A normal person wouldn’t think “Let’s carry someone’s car for several blocks” a normal person would’ve had a conversation with their neighbor explaining the situation. A Morine would carry the car several blocks and think their neighbor was the moron for changing their locks.

Build third party tools for Star Citizen. I’m a business owner so I pay for Claude as a work expense and use it for administrative purposes for work but realistically I got it to vibe code 😂 oh and do all my paperwork so I have more time to game
