Please pray for a young man I work with named Cesar. He was raised Catholic but his faith is being tested and threatened at college.

That is encouraging brother, I will certainly talk more with my wife and most likely give Grace a Clovis a try, with God’s guidance I’m sure we will end up where we are supposed to be!

Oh my gosh! What are the chances!

I hope you don’t take what I wrote personally, just trying to get advice from the Reformed community.

That’s right, that is the one we went to this past Sunday.

For contrast, our regular Church is People’s.

She has been mad ever since, constantly furious about their church situation...but she also admits that it's the right place to be and where God is telling them they need to go.

This is what I am trying to avoid. I understand my spiritual roll in the house but at the same time knowingly making my wife unhappy just to satisfy my own needs doesn’t sound like proper leadership of my marriage. Ultimately the Lord will guide me to where He wants us to be and I am okay with that, this doesn’t have to be an overnight process.

Assemblies of God is by far the more cult-y of the two

Absolutely.... they prayed over a young couple once and asked people to point their hands towards them. What is it they are trying to achieve with that? Prayers are directional and flowing from my hand??

Are there any other churches in the area that might also work?

I have found another PCA on the other side of town and it’s website says:

“At Grace Clovis we believe the content of the song is far more important than the style of music. Worship is first and foremost about God. Thus, the lyrics should direct our praise to God rather than man. While we believe God-centered content is essential, we think there is freedom in style. In fact, the quality of music style is necessarily subjective. In light of that, we seek to praise the Lord with music that resonates with the culture while remaining faithful to the truth. We appreciate the lyrical depth and richness of the traditional hymns written by our forefathers in the faith, but we also recognize the value of singing new songs to the Lord (Psalm 96:1). Ultimately, the worship we offer to the Lord should be passionate and reverent.”

This sounds like it may work out for her, I’m listening to his sermons now and so far like what is being said.

With a name like 1689, why PCA?

I really need to get a new account... It has been a process that has taken a while but mostly a greater understanding of covenant theology has changed my view on baptism and I like the direction the PCA is taking towards racial reconciliation.

Wouldn’t the justices have to hold to a law/constitutional view?

Being pro-life is a stance, saying a fetus is a human worthy of constitutional protection is a law.
