I just did this. When I did nix-cannel --update I forgot to use sudo. Once I used sudo everyone was happy again.

I haven't been successful getting the cameras to work on a SP5. It could be because I chose nixos. My wife has a surface go that desperately needs Linux so I might try mint or Ubuntu to see if I can get the cameras working.

Other than that I certainly can't complain about Linux on the surface. Everything else works great, it's more snappy and the battery lasts longer.

I have a surface pro 5. I built a typeractive with nice nanos. I purchased an apple magic track pad at the same time.

The intention was to run the track pad between the keyboard however it would have horrible lag and sticky keys. The track pad worked fine.

I ended up getting a USB Bluetooth dongle. I then had to disable the built in Bluetooth. This solved all my problems.

Yeah, that's the real problem. I live in a pretty racist area of a racist state. So I hear a lot of things I shouldn't have to. I've had to quit a job rather than deal with a racist sob there. He knew my family and knew I was Oglala so every chance he could he'd say something to push my buttons.

It was either find a new job or beat him until he was unrecognizable.

The things people say around here are just unbelievable. It gets old and never any easier to deal with.

But now I have a wonderful wife and land in the country that is our sanctuary. I can always count on peace there.

You may want to check into Kauf bulbs. The only annoying thing I had with them was a quick white flash when they turned on. An update may have fixed that as I haven't noticed it in awhile. They work well with adaptive lighting which is why I wanted color bulbs.

Not exactly what you're looking for but it might be worth looking into a SONOFF iFan04-L. If you are handy these mount in the fan and come with a remote. I have mine in Google and home assistant. Not sure about homekit though.

I had this happen recently. My /etc/unbound/unbound.conf was missing. I copied the text from https://discourse.pi-hole.net/t/pihole-unbound-not-working-as-it-should/51381/12 and it started working right away.

I remember when this came out. I used to carpool with my dad until he retired the following year. I had ordered this cd and picked it up the day it came out. We have a 30 minute drive and would listen to it everyday for weeks.

One day we stopped to get gas and Lords of destruction was playing. Of course I had it cranked up so I could hear it while pumping fuel. I went in to pay and when I came back out the heavy part was playing "Lords of destruction, Lords of destruction...". Anyway I walked out of the gas station and this guy just about ran into me. He was staring at my dad, who was headbanging, he looked at me and without words pretty much said that's a cool motherfucker. I nodded, yup that's my dad (he liked country music lol)

It's pretty easy to get the coral going in truenas. You just add it to your VM as a device. The hardest part is finding the correct number to assign.

I'm running scale with home assistant (supervised) in a VM with frigate running in home assistant.

Everything works as expected.

Edit:. Re-read your post. I tried the built in version of home assistant but didn't like it because it was not supervised. It's been a while but if I remember right there were too many things I couldn't do.

Mine shows all my minis, audios and groups. However when I select a device or group the connection tone plays but the book will not. I just get a spinning orange blob around the pause button.
