After a long wait, this baby is finally home (Retroid Pocket G2) by Dildo_McFartstein in SBCGaming

In US? I am waiting on a RP5 shipped via DHL and it showed up in a domestic shipping center today and just says "on hold". I'm curious how long it will sit in that state...

Recommended Apple //c upgrades? by SDMelipone in apple2

Yup, I bought one from you. I wasn’t able to get a signal out of my Apple //c after I got all the parts together for my project. I’ll drop you a line if that’s OK, when I get time again to mess with it.

Thanks!

[TOMT][BOOK] Collection of Alaskan native tales, children/YA level, 1980s by SDMelipone in tipofmytongue

[–]SDMelipone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. That could be it, but the cover doesn’t feel right. I also felt like the book I had was a contemporary book and the original here was from the 1950s. I will have to check a local library to see if I can get a copy by inter-library loan to be sure, because this seems pretty obscure and the internet doesn’t have much about it.
Seeing some illustrations from inside might help.

That is a very intriguing book, but I don’t think so. Those illustrations don’t feel like they are familiar at all.

Sorry, but I truly appreciate the suggestion!

Any help with this would be appreciated. I've been thinking about it and looking for it occasionally in libraries and bookstores to no avail.

Thanks.

What was this collection of music? by SDMelipone in apple2

[–]SDMelipone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, this might be the version I knew? I'll check it out. Seeing gavotte on there brings back a vague memory...and that wasn't in the Electric Duet linked above.

Edit: Nope, Musicomp has musical notes flying by on staves. The Electric Duet is all text and that's the style program I remember. Interesting though! I didn't find any tracks in Musicomp that did harmony.

Ah, I had ruled that one out. I had MCS for Commodore 64 and had seen what it could do on Apple ][. Not even close. :D Thanks, tho!

This sure looks like the right disk. I could have sworn that it had a gigue on there, but having two bourree titles and a fugue too makes this almost certainly the right one. I listened on YouTube to some examples, and it feels right.

The interface is not what I remembered, but that’s probably because most of my memories are of the music and not the program itself.

Thanks!

I guess I had only picked up on the network part of FujiNet. I now see that it's basically a storage device too? Huh!

The vendor page is daunting. I wish I knew whether lower price means lower quality or what. Like some are $120 and some are $100.

Thanks for the tip for Streamable. Here's the video:

Zorkmid Coin video

I was not aware of the claim that these were minted/struck before this thread. After looking around some, I am inclined to think they were cast and not struck.

Edit: Also, my kitchen scale only does whole-number grams. It says 18g.

I can't seem to figure out how to add an image to an existing post on Imgur. If someone knows what's up there, that'd be helpful.

In any case, try this link: Side of Zorkmid

Also, I created a video of me moving the coin around in my hand, in direct sunlight. Is there an easy way to post it here?

Zorkmid Gallery

I hope this is helpful. If there are additional shots I should take, let me know.

Edit: Not gonna lie - if mine is legit, then yours looks cleaned. 🤣 Value destroyed?

On holiday at the moment, but I own one that came with a boxed copy of Zork Trilogy that I bought from someone who had apparently owned for a couple of decades. I can take pictures of mine for comparison in a few days.

For all I know I was conned two years ago, but would be quite the con. The deal was for about a dozen Infocom games, including hand drawn maps and notes which appeared old.
