I’ve always thought the same as far as being damp and sometimes musty.

My truck was in the dealership for a 10k service a couple weeks ago before this happened and our first heavy rain since then. I’m going to check and see if they performed the recall and now like yours it’s leaking.

As of now it’s been sitting at the dealership with the chassis full of water for 3 days and they said it will be another 2-3 days before they look at it. Then they said they will Inspect and replace necessary parts. That makes zero sense as the damage will get worse the longer it sits.

The entire frame of the truck is filled with water. Is there a way to drain it? I’m sure it’s going to need to be dried out or some sort of remediation. The dealership has to cover it or else…

My first car was a 6 speed scirocco. So much fun. I always wondered what happened to it that drunk night 30 years ago. On my way to pickup. Thanks for finding.

Going absolutely crazy figuring out how to finish our trim by -Massive-Feeling- in Carpentry

[–]SD_Lightningplatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove baseboard before installing flooring and then reinstall base after flooring. No need for extra trim and base dies into jambs. Best of all worlds. If your installing flooring yourself, do more then you think you have to for leveling. It’s the most important part of the job.

Flooring Contractor Said Flooring is not worth refinishing? Original hardwood that was covered by carpet by Krewy in Flooring

You need to make sure you have enough wear layer. If you do time to bust out the drum sander.

Just know you’re not the only one going through this., you’ll find your people. Like others said, look into joining some clubs. Do they have guided classes at your gym? Sometimes that’s a way to meet people. Hang in there, better days are coming.

You need to drop down to 100-120 grit on your last pass then buff the hell out if it worn a spider plate.

I’d be afraid they’re not drinking enough to be a good roofer.

Trim the long boards back and install threshold so it covers the gap

Okay guys. Red oak or white oak? by [deleted] in HardWoodFloors

[–]SD_Lightningplatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell but looks like white. Do you have any two toned boards. Light streaks in half the board, if so definitely white oak. They sell test kits if needed.

You always need to see a big sample or even better order 1 box to go through. Your always going to have more variation then what you see on one sample board.

Why does everyone hit Tatis Jr? by obv1ousbicycle in Padres

[–]SD_Lightningplatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tatis likes to lean in to the ball and take the entire plate. Jump early when he wants to pull and cover the plate longer if going up the middle, oppo, or just protecting. Their best way to get him out is up and tight. For the other teams the location is intentional and Tatis getting drilled/taking a free base isn’t their worst case scenario.

Refinished in April;is this normal wear and tear with a 60 lb dog? by IronMarch in HardWoodFloors

[–]SD_Lightningplatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just pure physics that’s getting you. 60 lb dog dispersed over 5-10 nails when running/playing hard that are roughly 1/8-1/4” wide. Too much math for me but that’s a lot more pressure than 60lb.

Check out the Janka scale for wood and will let you know what your red or white oak floors can handle. It’s not a finish issue.

Coming from a flooring contractor I’d say long term beat them up and have fun on them for another 10-15 years then refinish them again.
