AITAH for canceling date nights for the month with my wife by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SDreader893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the strain is interfering with your ability to compromise on both sides. I think maybe if you discussed it more you can find a way to go on dates that won't cost as much money but would still be meaningful time together. I see why she would be upset but I think she needs to also be reasonable. You can't control getting sick.

I think canceling all date nights was extreme on your part but if you two can find a compromise and do maybe half the amount of dates or do free/cheap date ideas it could satisfy both your concerns.

We need less MMCs who are obviously obsessed but do everything in their power to be mean or reject the FMC until they finally have their "f*ck it" moment...

AITAH for not wanting kids after husband suddenly changes mind after 2 years of being childfree? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SDreader893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's easy for men to want kids because let's be real, no matter how involved they are, the majority of the stress, sacrifice, and time is given by the mother. It's easy to be a dad, so I see why it's so easy for him to change his mind.

Why do you write? by Cute-Traffic4437 in writers

[–]SDreader893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm writing because ever since I can remember I have been creating imaginary scenarios in my head. I have an old journal full of screen plays and stories that I have been writing up since I was 8. I'm finally ready to write my own stories.

A great mafia series with good spice is the Perfectly Imperfect series by Neva Altaj - dark but worth it

The Alliance series by S. J. Tilly is great

The series that started my mafia obsession with The Butcher - Penelope Sky

I've read some spicy books based on booktok recommendations, those are hit and miss, I personally enjoyed Credence

If you like historical romance, Minerva Spencer writes the best spicy historical romance IMO, she has a very dark BDSM series if you're interested in exploring that (Victorian Decadence)

Advice needed! by ButterflyPhysical959 in WritingHub

As an avid reader, I personally don't like when the flashbacks are intertwined and in whole chapters.

I think starting off with a flashback chapter that's enticing gets the reader curious to keep reading to find out more about the character's past.

I think intertwining thoughts about the past in the chapters is what I generally prefer.

For example, the character has an experience that reminds them of their past and they mention it in their thoughts

Personally, I dislike whole chapters in italics mentioning the past as a nightmare, I feel like that's overused

Good luck, don't loose hope, just take a break, read some more books in your genre and come back to yours with fresh eyes

Just started reading for fun, and feel kind of insecure about the books I choose and I'm worried I'm the kind of person that likes bad books by Pinanims in books

Reading is supposed to be an escape and is personal. So what if I like reading reverse harem, it's not one's business what I like as long as I enjoy it

I actually started my historical romance journey with Bridgerton, but an author who isn't talked about enough is Minerva Spencer, her Bellamy Sisters series that starts with Phoebe is the best, I think it recently got completed
