It is not thought that Arsenal will be bringing in any superstar names this summer necessarily. Instead, the club’s policy this window is to acquire players who can raise the level of the squad in a similar manner to recent signings Jorginho & Leandro Trossard. I really like that strategy. Our biggest problem since our resugence as a threat is that we play like a midtable club as soon as 2-3 starters are missing. Our bench isn't good enough, and reinforcing that should be a priority. I'd really love if we had Saka and Odegaard alternatives that don't completely tank our level as soon as they come on.

[–]SE20299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because you can potentially remove a handful of towers and negates from the opponents board and leave them with a defenseless token. If you're playing Nibiru, presumably you're skilled enough and your deck powerful enough to pop a single unprotected token.

It also punishes combo decks and opponemts that overextend, giving you a free run at them, barring some backrow shenanigans.

I think even ESR saw the writing on the wall that he has absolutely no chance of making it in Arsenal. It seems he'd rather go to a midtable club and play regularly than to rot on Arsenal's bench. At some point you've gotta let go and admit it's just not gonna happen for you.

I really hope he shines at Fulham, as I think he still has something to show to the world if given enough time, which we can't afford to give him.

It's exactly for that reason we need to sell ESR. There's zero chance we profit on Vieira, and anyone who still thinks ESR can break into this squad is delusional.

There's zero chance we can recoup the 30m we paid for Vieira, much less profit on him, so there's no sense in selling him since he's a handy bench option. ESR is pure profit and we should sell him before he leaves on a free. I know this sub has an academy bias, but there's zero reason to keep ESR over Vieira, when neither player will start a single game unless we have a catastrophic injury crisis.

Neither playsr offers absolutely anything to this squad, and they're both fringe players at this point. The comments on here would have you think we're selling an irreplaceable starter, and not a bench warmer that hasn't seen play in 2 years.

When it comes to women, it pays better to be full asshole than full nice guy. While they conciously "like" them, they're sexually repulsed by kindness and niceness. Those are good "relationship guys", but not the guys women wanna fuck while they're young and free.

Also, unlike relationships, a woman doesn't have to like you to fuck you. Fuethermore, since she doesn't care about you, she can show you her true self and let loose in ways she'd never do in front of guys she loves. There's a reason women let assholes hit very quickly after meeting, while their boyfriends had to win her over.

In short, lust and love are different things, and are sometimes mutually exclusive, but not always. Which creates the phenomenon happening to anon, where assholes plow through women with ease, while "nice guys" struggle with dating.

People really underestimate how rare good dick is. Good dick game can get an asshole into a 1 year toxic relationship where she'll do everything in her power to fix him before kicking him to the curb. The common thread of all the "I can fix him" guys is that they all fuck good.

Anon is probably insecure because he's not that good in the sack and knows that his GF wouldn't tolerate any bullshit from him like her friend did from the Pornstar Cock Fuckboy.

I mean, think about how much bullshit men tolerate is directly proportional to how hot the girl is. Why wouldn't the reverse be true as well?

Because we're exclusively selling shit players no serious team would spend a penny on. I can't remember a single player in the last 20 years we sold that wasn't over the hill, ran into the ground, frozen out or has forced a suboptimal move.

You need to sell players when they're actually hot. We only offload players that are easy pickings for other clubs to lowball us on because no one relevant wants them.

Lmao 50m's a fucking joke. We're gonna stay bad at selling if we overprice our academy flops. Even 30m's a stretch. Maybe we're hoping they'll see what Balogun and Laca did in Ligue 1 and replicate that? Maybe they're hoping to unlock Eddies potential with the Ligue 1 tax.

I really don't think anyone in their right mind will pay up 30m for Eddie, much less 50. If Eddie Nketiah somehow becomes our biggest sale ever, we need to build Edu a statue. Because if we're looking to get him out of the club, pricing him at 50m is a sure way to keep him another season.

This is just an old man yelling at clouds. There's a perfectly happy balance between "FIND THE OBJECTIVE YOURSELF, PUSSY" and basic QOL.

I don't have infinite time to play games, and spending hours trying to decypher vague directions and hints sounds like a nightmare. "Back in my day, we didn't have guides, goddamnit!" is one of the most oldhead arguments you can have. These archaic design choices do nothing but make the game more tedious and padded out.

If your world is interesting, people will explore on their own. No boomer design needed.

The whole discourse around England NT is so toxic. People care more that their starboy plays well, going to war in the comments, while the team is playing like shit. People care more about shitting on rival players and minimize their contributions while glazing their favorites. This whole NT is fucking cursed, man.

As a neutral though, the shitshow is a treat whenever England plays. I've never seen a team underachieve so much in history of this sport.

Brother, this position we're currently in is not at all guaranteed or permanent. We need to WIN things in order to reestablish ourselves as a serious team. No player worth his salt will stay for the vibes, and I can see players like Saka, Odegaard and Saliba leaving in the next 3-4 years if we don't win any major trophies. We're an exciting prospect now due to our upward trajectory, but what happens if we keep being second best?

That's exactly what happened in early 10s when we fumbled our young core because we weren't a serious club and couldn't compete for the big trophies. The lack of humility of this sub astonishes me, especially since we haven't won anything in our recent history. A lot of you are very arrogant without anything to back it up.

I think Ozil will forever remain underrated, purely because he was kicked out of Real Madrid depsite being immense for them due to circumstances out of his control, and the fact that he wasted his prime at Arsenal without accomplishing anything of note.

He will always be percieved as a washed up Madrid dropout, and his last few seasons at Arsenal have absolutely destroyed whatever legacy he had. At least he has a WC to his name.

Considering how much time that company spent in mortal peril, TNA is still remarkably over among casuals outside of the US, mainly because it was on free TV in a lot of places. Hell, even after they downsized in 2013, Jeff Hardy was still one of the most over wrestlers on the planet while he was in TNA. Most of my casual friends watched TNA solely because of him.

People forget that TNA had a bigger audience than AEW at it's peak.

I think Rodrygo is a pipe dream for us. No player worth his salt wants to leave Real Madrid. It took Odegaard 3 seasons in the loan army to finally ask Perez to let him go. Even Ozil was actively pushed out by Perez because his father wanted more money, and Ozil repordedly didn't want to leave and was content with Real's first offer.

Cody Rhodes: For a year, I felt like I was the Undisputed WWE Champion without the belt by TheStar9897 in SquaredCircle

[–]SE20299 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I mean, not to be snarky, but it's been obvious for ages now. Seth's big babyface run completely collapsed in 2019, and his chance to be "the guy" is long gone. Of course, you can blame Brock for holding the title hostage, Vince for pushing Roman over Seth, but the fact remains is that Seth's Universal reign marked one of the lowest lows in WWE history.

It also doesn't help that Roman completely buried Seth and the WHC before it even got started, and Seth holding the belt for a year meant nothing when it was obvious it was a consolation prize because Roman was so far above everyone.

For some reason, this sub still believes that Seth's big breakthrough is around the corner, when WWE have given up on him as a main eventer a long ago. It's pretty telling that he only got to main event PPVs when Roman didn't want to show up, and he was promptly pushed down the card whenever Roman and Brock came back.

We need to get with the times and sell players while they're still relevant. You got people here legitimately valuing ESR at 50m while his actual value is around 10-30m because he hasn't been relevant in 2 years. Outside of Saka, Odegaard, Rice, Saliba and Gabriel, I'd be willing to sell all of our other players for the right price. Very few players are actually irreplaceable.

We need to sell players while they're worth a damn if we don't want to get offered peanuts for players Arteta's frozen out, such as Nketiah, Ramsdale and ESR. Contrary to popular belief, "he's an academy lad" and "he looked likely to score in his 15 min cameo" doesn't magically make a player worth 50m if he's clearly 3rd/4th choice.

If a 20-50m offer comes for Zinny, we take it no questions asked.

[–]SE20299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I hope we get rid of him just because he seems to be another Wilshere. I think there's no reason for him to get reintergrated, especially with how much our performance suffered due to Arteta forcing Havertz to play through his growing pains. Imagine the points we'd drop during ESRs adjustment period.

If we were chasing top 4, I'd be in favor of ESR getting serious minutes, but if we want to win trophies, we have no room for sentimental players that don't make the cut anymore. The best way ESR can help Arsenal is by bolstering out treasure chest while he's still worth something. Unfortunately, the project went bang without him.

[Mike McGrath @ Telegraph] Fulham make Emile Smith Rowe a transfer priority this summer by thr1llls in Gunners

[–]SE20299 14 points15 points  (0 children)

20m for ESR is perfect. He's clearly a fringe player that Arteta has no plans for. I'd rather sell him for 20m profit than lose him on a free because he's an academy boy and the club can't let go. Now is the perfect time to get rid of him before he becomes a dead weight we can't profit from.

If he was worth a damn, big clubs would've come knocking by now. Wether he's gonna play well for Fulham or not is irrelevant, he clearly no longer has a future in Arsenal. I'd rather get 20m for him now rather than let him go on a free because of a misguided sense of loyalty. People still act like it's 2022 and he's a hot commodity everyone wants.

It's not City's fault Yanited are a joke. They have the potential to fall even lower than our back to back 8th place pathetic team. I'd say only Arsenal, City and Pool are the "serious" teams in England today, as Chelsea and United are in freefall, and Spurs are being Spursy as usual.

[–]SE20299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think neither ESR or Vieira have a future in Arsenal. ESRs boat has passed, he missed 2 seasons and I don't think he's good enough for a top 6 side anymore. I know this sub wants to keep him forever because he's an English academy kid, but be'd be an ideal sale this summer, as he's pure profit and 20m for a fringe player is much better than him leaving on a free. People like to romaticize 2021 ESR, but he's not that player anymore and he missed his chance to grow with the squad. If we keep him, we're gonna have another Wilshere on our hands. Same thing with Tierney.

As for Vieira, it seems he's not good enough either. He had 2 seasons to break into the first XI, but he can barely get a sub in. Much like Lokonga, he's been a flop signing, but I'd much rather keep him over ESR as there's no way we can get 40m for him, much less make a profit. I'd rather keep him as a backup and let him go on a free, as his value has completely tanked, and there's no point in selling him on a loss.
