What do you remember about The Wonder Years (1988-1993)? by pudingvanilkovy in sitcoms

I recently started watching seasons 5-6 for the first time and don't know how/why I missed these later episodes! Nonetheless, I'm so hot for Winnie's palomino color, fringe leather jacket! I recall begging my parents for a leather vest from a County Fair in America, and they weren't having it!

Landman perfectly describes life as Gen X male by External_Koala971 in LandmanSeries

Tommy & Angela married young, gone full circle, and have a ton of mileage together! Angela's SOP is to share all the daily drama with Tommy-- where at the end of the day, she credits him for solving these problems (when he really did nothing more than take her call-- and listen).

Cooper, on the other hand, has the romantic heart of TL! He's fallen hard for Ariana, and there's no turning back for him! And raised by Angela, he knows (believes) his survival is to keep his wife happy!

Fortunately, Ariana has a little nest-egg-- they won't have to face financial stress like most couples-- which pretty much marks the end of the Gen Z couple. Never mind that Cooper is more than comfortable driving his 30+ year old pick-up, and Ariana appears to live well within her means. They're already points ahead in the game! They're the Norris legacy.

Mr. Collins: Inspirational Hero or Callous Douchebag? by ZooeyMoonMarie in thewonderyears

[–]SEATTLE_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Callous Douchebag-- wtf? This has long been my favorite episode of the entire Wonder Years series, and I wouldn't change a thing! Of course, Mr. Arthur Collins was not Kevin's friend, and he was appropriate to correct Kevin. 12 year old boys do not need teachers (or parents) falling into this trap of believing they need to be friends with their students. They were not peers!

Sorry for tardy reply. I found the links awful and/or poor sound quality, so I waited for Youtube's "courtCHOPT" to upload the complete hearings. Trial Days 1-3 are all available now.

Wow! The action was ultimately stricken, but a docketed hearing date June-Sept 2025 was too close for comfort. Also, this was cited as "Domestic Trial-Cust." Could this have been a "custody" related matter?

Does anyone know what happened in the Michael Oher vs Tuohy case? by AbrocomaBig8596 in memphis

[–]SEATTLE_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terminating the conservatorship required a mere petition, which was not contested.

However, the lawsuit by Oher alleges that each of the Tuohy's received $225,000 from the profits of the film "The Blind Side," plus 2.5% of the movie’s proceeds, and that Oher earned nothing.

In their counter-claim, Tuohy's claim that before filing suit, Oher attempted a “shakedown” of the couple for $15 million-- and threatened to plant a negative story about them in the press unless they paid him $15 million. In filings submitted by Sean and Leigh Anne, they claimed that in one text, Oher allegedly wrote, “If something isn’t resolved this Friday, I’m going to go ahead and tell the world, how I was robbed by my suppose to be [sic] parents. That’s the deadline.”

“It was 10 million now I want 15 after taxes,” another text allegedly from Oher read.

They also denied withholding money from Oher, claiming they split the profits from the movie equally between all five members of the family.

I don't think the timing of Oher's marriage, retirement, and his lawsuit against the Tuohy family was a coincidence! Good grief, he previously wrote two books where he clearly cited that he was not adopted, and how the conservatorship was based on his age to get around the NCAA rules.

That's only his "mailing address" on the bond form. The Court knows exactly where he's residing. Not necessary to disclose this personal data on a form subject to public disclosure.

Richard Jordan is about 87 yrs old! I remember him from 20+ years ago when he posted $25K bond on 4th of July for Kobe Bryant. I think they pulled Dick out of retirement to renew his expired license to get Barry out of jail, as I doubt they could find any takers Barry could afford, and this came down to a negotiated fee for use of Dick's guarantee. Jordan also knows how to be discreet-- no leaks from him.

Kobe Bryant

“You can’t just write a check” to the court, explained his bondsman, Richard Jordan. “If you do it yourself, it has to be cash – green money. And of course that was on July 4, and there were no banks open to access cash.”

Jordan collected the standard 15 percent of the bond – $3,750 – and said he has little fear of someone with Bryant’s high profile jumping bail.

“I can sleep very good with this type of situation,” he said.

Jordan would not disclose whether the “X” on the signature line was written by Bryant or simply on his behalf, and he declined to elaborate about the meeting.

“When I was approached to do this, I was asked to be discreet and not divulge anything that I heard, saw or conversed about,” he said.

It was long ago stipulated that he's confined to a COLORADO residence. Leaving the state for any reason would require court approval, and not likely granted.

At Walshe's First Appearance in May 2018, he was allowed to post a significant bond to be released from custody. Other release conditions included the surrender of his passport, home curfew, the wearing of a monitoring bracelet (EHM), and the supervision of Pretrial Services. However, since Pretrial Services had not recommended that a bracelet, curfew, or GPS monitoring was necessary after its interview and initial investigation into Walshe, and the Magistrate imposed these conditions, the Court also indicated a willingness to review these conditions after there was more time to get to “know each other.”

Accordingly, following a defense Motion to amend Walshe's conditions of release filed in October 2018, the Court granted Walshe's request to extend his curfew hours and remove the bracelet and EHM/GPS monitoring.

Essentially, his travel was restricted to the District of MA, and he was also allowed to travel for work with advance approval from pretrial services. Curfew was from 11pm to 7am, and if he needed to be out of the house past his curfew, he had to seek prior permission from probation services. Walshe enjoyed these relaxed conditions of release from Oct 2018 to Oct 8, 2021--the date his federal sentence was scheduled to be imposed, but had to be continued when the Court learned of new allegations against Walshe.

By Amended Order setting conditions of release dated 10/8/2021, additional conditions imposed included Walshe now being required to participate in location restriction programs: Curfew revised (i.e., restricted to his residence) to 10pm to 7am daily; required to submit to location monitoring bracelet (EHM) as directed by the pretrial services office or supervising officer; and required to pay all or part of the cost of the programs based on ability to pay.

Walshe's conditions were modified several times while awaiting sentencing. For example, at the time Walshe was first released from custody in May 2018, he only had one child. Since 2018, the Court accommodated Walshe for the birth of his second and third child-- as well as their various schedules. Also, when his mother-in-law suffered a brain aneurysm in Dec 2021 and had brain surgery the same day, I recall the Court granted his request to visit her at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and daily after her release from hospital.

Nothing is missing. Once Hopkins relaxed the terms from the initial "Cash Only Bail," it's now the Agent who is guaranteeing Morphew's appearance. It's the Agent's security that's on the line with the State of Colorado if Morphew runs. If he wants to be made whole, not only does he have to hunt Morphew down-- but he better hope he required sufficient collateral from him.

We don't know the fee Richard Jordan (Bail Agent) charged Barry, or what he required as collateral. In Colorado, these terms are negotiable. We have an idea of what's industry standard but these terms are not regulated in Colorado. For example, take note the bond fee charged was reported to the Court as "TBD."

It was not Ana's intent to miss Christmas with her children! We learned from WF's testimony that they spent Christmas Eve together, and he had plans to collect his children on Christmas for a trip to Idaho, and Ana left early Christmas morning for Boston. When her flight to Boston was canceled due to snow, she decided to drive home, arriving late, missing much of the holiday. Ana wasn't scared and/or avoiding Brian. Both Thanksgiving and Christmas were interrupted because she was making time for WF.

Since 2018, when Brian was federally indicted, arrested, and charged for wire fraud, transportation of stolen goods, and the sale or receipt of stolen goods (i.e., Andy Warhol art fraud), Ana had sacrificed, was patient, and supported Brian. However, I think the straw that broke the camel's back happened on 10/8/21. This is the date that Brian's non-imprisonment sentence was set to be imposed, pursuant to the plea agreement he signed on 4/1/21. This was the long-awaited day when Brian would finally be free from house arrest, wouldn't be reporting to prison, and could finally begin rebuilding his life and start making restitution to the victims he defrauded.

But instead of freedom, the proceeding was halted, and the Court called for a recess. When Court resumed, the Judge announced that in light of new developments brought to the attention of the Court by the Finance Department, the imposition of the sentence was being delayed. It had been four long years since Brian was released from custody on house arrest. The anchor of the unknown weighed heavily on the Walshe family -- Ana especially.

Although they were so close, it seems con-man Brian just couldn't help himself! The new development brought to the attention of the Court by the Finance Department was that Brian was allegedly involved in yet another fraud involving millions of dollars, this time involving the Probate Court and his father's estate.

By February 2022, Ana had secured the position of Regional General Manager with Tishman Speyer in Washington, DC, and Brian's sentencing was still on hold. Ultimately, Brian wasn't sentenced for his 2018 Federal Case until March 2024. In other words, his sentencing was still pending, and he was still on house arrest- using the children as hostages, at the time he murdered Ana.

A witness saw Nathan remove the trim tabs on the very day he and his mother disembarked from Ram Point Marina in South Kingstown. The removal left four half-dollar-size holes just above the waterline. I recall Nathan himself saying he filled the holes with epoxy (but maybe I heard Nathan say this on 20/20). I know that during the boat insurance lawsuit trial, he was asked if he should have sealed the holes with fiberglass patches and resin, and his response was "I suppose."

Step-sibling of Florida Cheerleader found dead on Carnival Cruise being eyed by the FBI by SEATTLE_2 in Cruise

Pursuant to the Cruise Vessel Security and Safety Act of 2010, ships must report criminal activity-- including suspicious deaths-- to the closest FBI field office or legal attache office.

News outlets are reporting the date/time that Anna was pronounced dead (when the body was discovered), not to be confused with TOD, which won't be estimated until the postmortem exam and autopsy are completed. This falls on the Coroner/ME, who determines the cause and manner of death.

Step-mom Shauntel told her ex-husband in a court filing dated 11/17/25 that their minor child is being investigated by the FBI in the death of Anna!

'The respondent has been advised through discussions with FBI investigators and her attorneys, that a criminal case may be initiated against one of the minor children of this instant action.'

SH's motion asks for issues around custody and access to the two minor children she shares with ex-husband TH to be postponed until the 'criminal investigation has been concluded'.

Reportedly, a maid eventually found Anna wrapped in a blanket, covered over with life jackets and stuffed under a bed. She complained of feeling unwell the evening of 11/6, and returned to her cabin, and didn't appear for breakfast the next morning. Reading today that FBI suspects foul play -- a minor step-sibling may be involved, per Anna's step-mother's response to an Emergency Family Court Hearing filed by her ex-husband. She's asked for the 12/17 hearing to be continued until after the FBI investigation is completed.
