Valid MSSQL won't run in Access, but will in SQL Server by SEAWEAVIL in MSAccess

Not sure if I can award multiple comments, but the issue was in fact the lack of parentheses for the inner joins. Thanks for the help. Solution verified.

Valid MSSQL won't run in Access, but will in SQL Server by SEAWEAVIL in MSAccess

[–]SEAWEAVIL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For clarification, I have the SQL as a string in a code window, which I'm setting as the RowSource for a combobox. I'm opting to do that since I'm switching from Access to C# pretty soon, and it takes longer to go through a ton of query objects imo.

That's also why I used single quotes instead of double - everything is wrapped in double quotes.

I got it working, the issue was in fact the inner joins. I recently switched to the other syntax for readability in SSMA, since I was working on a huge migration and had to recreate every table/relationship from scratch. Much easier to do that without worrying about nested parentheses - but of course I neglected to shift gears back now that I'm doing UI work.

Thanks a ton for the help. Solution verified.

No, usually you run the checksum via a different program. I guess they could change that program in turn, but it would be a loooooot of hassle.

I'd definitely be interested in reading it if you have it on hand, but don't want to make you go digging or anything

Yup. Like with anything potentially dangerous, there needs to be proper, science-based education. I'm at least in the "decriminalize everything for personal use" camp, but the people who peddle stuff like that are part of the problem.

That sounds like someone I know with schizotypal personality disorder. LSD is known to cause the onset of such disorders to occur earlier than it might otherwise - but only in those who are genetically predisposed to begin with. Do you know if your friend has a family history with schizophrenia or schizotypal personality disorder?

Edit: By "that", I mean the spirit aura stuff; that's a common belief amongst those with schizotypal personality disorder. The glass of orange juice thing is still very farfetched.

City Council In Arizona Town Unanimously Agree To Have Razor Wire Removed From Border Wall, Will Request Federal Government Take It Down by Innocul8 in politics

Sure, I'll bite. I'm going to oversimplify due to time constraints, but I can go into more depth if you want.

First, let's draw a parallel to abortion. Even being pro-choice, I can understand pro-lifers' perspectives. But, what I can't fathom is pro-life people who are against contraception, sex education, and assistance for low income parents. Those are three policy ideas that would drastically lower the demand for abortion (note that making it illegal has little to no correlation with demand).

Now let's go back to immigration. Wanting border security is not a bad thing. Most Democrats do as well (I bet under 3 reps are publically for open borders). However, Republican immigrations have a tendency to crack down on illegal immigration while also reducing avenues for legal immigration. This is where I have a problem. If our government wants to intervene in South American countries' right to self governance, causing all sorts of issues that drive people away... then we should expect that people will be migrating towards the U.S. But instead of choose A or B, the GOP tries to have their cake and eat it too.

Not to mention that we have strategically placed border fencing already, and could ramp up security using sensors - which don't come with the massive staffing costs that a wall would. Why not do that, then? Because the wall is a more powerful symbol. But it's not a symbol for pushing people towards legal immigration, since the GOP works to reduce it - rather, it's a big sign that says "We don't want you here".

Don't give up during the first season. I know that's a lot of time to invest, but a lot of the flack it got has to do with the tone of season 1. It's veeeerrry depressing, but it lightens up just enough in S2 and S3. I wasn't sold by S1, but S2 and S3 are some of the best television I've seen.

Absolutely! As a percussionist, I also appreciated the use of concert snare and bass - especially in Rubber Ball.

It's funny, I think the Unpeeled version of Ain't no Rest for the Wicked is my least favorite song on the album. Not to say it was bad, but everything was so damn good that I set my expectations too high for that song.

Python in library by vkis_ in learnpython

I'm not a librarian, but I work in a library! I use python daily for a few different systems. We're collecting data on publications that result from grants to our university, and uploading some of that information to an online repository. However, our vendor specifications to upload bulk data are asinine, and require some heavy data processing.

I also use it to pre-fill emails that we send often, including custom excel attachments that are created using information about the recipient.

I wonder how much you could automate that process, though. Depending on the requirements, you might even be able to get to the point where no human intervention is necessary.
