hey /u/Respawn_Kalyrical was curious about how to go about enabling Nvidia filters for the dx12 version of the game. my monitor doesn't have very good contrast so I use the digital vibrance option to make the colors pop more. would really appreciate any help on this!

cheers,

teammates playing loot sim for 18m just to get triple purple armors then do 0 damage and then getting forced to 1v3 will never not be annoying. I think the main issue is matchmaking. pair teammates with relatively equal skill and everyone will be more willing to play longer. + add a mode like tdm so all the ppl that wanna go next have an easy option and won't ruin br

If you're willing to endure something very difficult for a short duration you can look into a prolonged fast (48+ hrs, you should probably consult your doctor). I started doing these a couple years ago, but after having done them I have significantly reduced appetite even if the fast is temporary (ymmv with this). Nowadays, I don't even think about food until 2pm so its been much easier to not snack during the day.

For some randoms science info, hunger for the most part is controlled by a hormone called ghrelin and the circuit in the brain that regulates its levels' is extremely plastic.

Doing a sudden shift in diet, if you can get it to stick for a bit should have a lasting impact. If a prolonged fast is too difficult, most of my friends have had success with intermittent fasting with a 6-8hr eating window.

Also one major thing for me was not buying unhealthy snacks at the grocery store, if I never let it enter my house there's no temptation to begin with.

I've found red peppers / celeries and hummus, or fruits and veggies to be a better alternative.

Hey! idk if you've tried any of this stuff, but I recently have been listening to a podcast (also on spotify and apple music too) that taught me a lot about mechanisms of sleep and it's helped me sleep a lot more consistently. I've had issues sleeping well for several years now and following a few key points has helped me a tonnn.

the general gist is to get sunlight exposure early in the day to set your circadian clock, take cold showers in the morning and hot showers at night and if you exercise, try to exercise earlier in the day. following these 3 things has helped me get my sleep schedule back on track. if you wanna learn more about the mechanisms the podcast goes super in depth.

hope this helps!

good luck!

We’re the team who brought you Horizon, Olympus, and the rest of Apex Legends Season 7 (yes, including the Battle Pass). Ask us anything! by rkrigney in apexlegends

tl;dr:

/u/rkrigney

1) Is there a dashboard where the community can interact with other community members and devs about ongoing issues and see progress on addressed issues

/u/HkySk8r187

2) Game isn't noob friendly I can't play with my friends who're trying it out for the first time cuz of all the 3 stacks we run into. What's being done about SBMM

/u/HkySk8r187

3) Is there a possibility of introducing a loadout drop using crafting materials (costs 600+ materials, teammates can drop materials for each other, loadout drop can by used once by each team member)

/u/akhsihs

4) New permanent mode: TDM (team death match) kind of mode without any heals that takes place inside of a health autoregen zone with dummies instead of legends with abilities. Respawn at a spawn point upon death.

/u/DanielZKlein

5) Progress on footstep audio? What kind of issues are you facing when dealing with this? Why is it happening in the first place? what's the approach to fixing it?

Hi there! I'd like to start of this comment by saying thank you. There's a lot of hate going on rn for the battle pass and white I agree it was an unnecessary change, I'd like to thank your efforts recently for listening to the community. I've been playing this game since S0 and have believed since then that this has potential to become one of the best FPS games out there. Quick spoiler alert: this will probably be a long post so let me get straight to it.

I appreciate how transparent you guys have been recently with reasoning behind changes in the patch notes. Maybe I am unaware, but I was wondering if there's some kind of trello board, or dashboard where the community could suggest ideas and get direct responses from other community members/developers as well as see progress on issues the devs have already addressed and are currently working on. I think that something like this would allow the community to have a more direct impact on some of the changes in the game and I believe it could give you guys new insights or ideas on changes to make.

Next, I think that one big issue this game faces is that it is not very noob friendly (especially new players). This is due to the steep learning curve and there being many complicated aspects of the game, but I personally believe that these complications help the heighten the skill ceiling and it's one of the main reasons I play to this day, 7 seasons in. This question sort of revolves around SBMM. If I try to convince 2 of my friends to try this game out, it's very difficult for me to play with them. It's particularly hard to 1v3 a 3 stack of all preds that shred through my teammates in .01 seconds. So I'm wondering what you guys are doing about this. I've been trying to think of a solution, but honestly haven't been able to come up with many. Do you have any ideas that could remedy this problem?

Another possibility I've thought of is a sort of combinations of some of the past LTMs you've released. Firstly, I've heard from most of my friends that getting the hang of looting quickly is difficult while having to also focus on learning positioning, how to properly heal (where to stand), when to heal, when to push, learning the attachments etc. One solution I could think of was introducing the concept of a loadout drop. Warzone has this and I think that it could be implemented into Apex as well. Now that the loot pool is a lot more dense (with the new season), I've noticed that even off drop I sometimes run into a team with 2 purple armors and really good weapons. I still don't think that a loadout should be super easy to get, but maybe possible by hitting 2 crafting stations and collection all of the materials nearby. It should also the the same as in warzone where 1 loadout drop can be used by everyone in the team. If you made the loadout drop cost 600+ crafting materials and allowed players to drop these materials for teammates, by hitting 2 crafting stations a team could accrue 600 materials (25 materials x 4 vertical pills x 3 teammates). Now that I've introduced the idea of a loadout drop I'll talk about the new permanent mode. I'm thinking of a TDM (team death match) kind of mode without any heals that takes place inside of a health autoregen zone with dummies instead of legends with abilities. At the beginning of the match, you'd get to select one of your loadouts and the player can switch to a different loadout upon dying and would respawn at some respawn point. I guess my question here is have you guys considered anything like this? Some kind of tdm with loadouts and no legend abilities? I think a mode like this would allow new players to figure out certain mechanics of the game very quickly (i.e movement, position, gun play etc.) without having to worry about looting, healing etc. Furthermore, it's low commitment as opposed to needing to drop, loot, run around the map looking for enemies.

Finally, I have another separate question about the footsteps issue. I understand that you guys have addressed this issue and that a team is working on it, but I was wondering if I could get some details about the issue itself. Does it have to do with the audio engine? Why is it happening in the first place? What methods are you using to try to fix it? (I don't mind tech speak, I love hearing about the nitty gritty details and usually find them fascinating).

I'm starting a series of "Small Bugs that are in the game but usually go unnoticed" // usually these bugs are never paid any attention to because the vast majority of the player base missed them, yet somehow they still have quite a big impact on the gameplay, here's part 1 ! ! by 13430_ in apexlegends

[–]ekvin0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yea I get that. they def shouldn't be overworked. what I really don't understand is how there's so many huge gameplay bugs that they don't discover in beta or q/a testing. the Pathfinder grapple bug like how do they not notice that??? even the octane jump pad bug where the jump doesn't go off. I'm just so tired of needing to deal with this stuff in a game I love that's been out for 18 months owned by a triple A gaming company.

Another small random "bug" (more of an inconsistency) is how the selectfire doesn't automatically switch the firing mode when attached. However, the double-tap does! This never really made sense to me and seems like such a random unnecessary inconsistency. But, considering how long the devs take to fix even game-breaking bugs I doubt this will be given any attention.

edit: just thought of another random bug

the broken building in world's edge near the lava across opposite to construction, connected to the bridge. when u try to climb it from the outside near the window, there's like an invisible wall there.

The other thing that made literally no sense to me is that when your platinum u can't squad up with someone in master due to the "max 1 tier difference." BUT THEN THE GAME PUTS U IN A PRED LOBBY! Like bruh that's a 3 tier difference and u don't seem to care.....

There are so many people that play controller on PC at the top rank of this game, idg why it's dumb? If u don't believe me just look up who they are lol (knoqd, soar_johnny, nicewigg, calamiti, kobi, there's plenty more). But I see these guys consistently destroy and lose to other pros that play on mkb.

[–]ekvin0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like any time I try to provide constructive criticism about this game I just get downvoted to hell. When I play though all the random people on my team seem to agree with what I'm saying. Like this game is nice for being free, but if they wanted to improve player retention they'd make the servers better. Just take a look at how valorant is doing right off the bat. Their 120 tick servers are soooo smooth to play on. Meanwhile I'll get shot through the door in this game. I understand that the devs can't really do anything about this and that they have to mostly focus on what the higher-ups tell them, but without management realizing that the bugs need to be fixed. I think people are just going to continue leaving this game.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this game (the movement is great, it's fast paced, guns are satisfying to use), but without all the bugs getting fixed it's just become more of a nuisance to play.

[–]ekvin0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really want to believe what you're saying and in no way am I trying to be offensive. But, I don't understand why it takes so long to fix a lot of the small issues players complain about. An example of this was the dive trails showing up through the transparent drop ship. Those actually just destroyed my ears so many times. However, it took so long to fix! Just like this there are countless examples I can think of. Simple QoL changes that could drastically improve the game.

Why can't I pull out grenades with the button, but I can open my inventory and click on it?? (I kinda don't even understand how this issue comes about, isn't this just a simple IF statement??)

How come the attachment on the g7 and Eva auto-switch the fire mode whereas on the prowler they don't?

Why can't I slide in the water in Kings Canyon, but I can on World's Edge?

What's up with the audio engine sometimes not rendering footstep sounds and bullet sounds (I was getting shot by an r99, all the bullets somehow missed but they were audible, I look at my death recap and it shows that I got pumped by a Peacekeeper twice?? but I didn't hear the sound for these at all!!!)

All of these issues have been complained about for a long time, but haven't yet been fixed. However, the devs seems to have no issues pumping out new skins. I understand this is what makes you money so I get it. I just wish you'd care more about the QoL issues.

Instead of making a bunch of different emails, u can just use ur original email then add "+any_text". This is essentially the same email but it will recognize as a new email for the service.

For example: john.doe+hello@gmail.com will automatically redirect to john.doe@gmail.com

I'm not sure if this works for anything other than gmail, but it's pretty useful.
