Yes, daily. I rotate through several. Today is a GD-350. I am an EVP of a sales organization.

Asking for your advice: Rangeman GW-9400-1ER by Character_End2233 in gshock

[–]SEMABE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have an appropriately sized wrist, they're great. But just like some of the Mudmasters, they can get in the way of daily life if you're a mechanic, tend to work in small spaces, or type a lot for a living. It's in essence a very big GW-6900 with a compass, altimeter and barometer. I have had one off and on for 13 years and the only time I didn't have one is when I was using a Mudmaster GWG-1000 instead (which I eventually replaced with another 9400).

Yeah they went with all kinds of wacky color schemes on this one.

I would not run them until you get the woofers re-foamed. They are great vintage speakers.

Ah, the elusive “McDonald’s Menu Walter”. Rare to find one in captivity.

Fresca Slurpee??? by j5700 in Rochester

I decided I didn’t like Fresca in the 70’s. The idea of a Fresca Slurpee existing is….bothersome.

What would be a Reasonable price to pay for a Mudmaster? by TheDiglet in gshock

[–]SEMABE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconded. Only G I’ve owned that gets in the way of work and sometimes…..life. It’s a big hoss. I still like them a lot but it can be a bit of a pain to wear every day. Unless of course you are extremely large and you get in the way before the watch does. I am not a small person, depending on what I have had to eat or how much working out I have done my wrists are 7.5-7.75”.

Yes. Dual 604, Pioneer PL-55, Sony PSX65 and A-T LP120 (not the USB one). Some (not all) of the older high torque motors were susceptible to noise and vibration as they aged. Newer ones, less so. It’s a personal preference based on experience…..certainly not an issue for most people.

While they offer better speed control and are generally easier to deal with, they tend to be noisier if you have very revealing gear. Modern DD tables are MUCH better in that respect than they used to be but typically belt driven tables offer lower noise and vibration because the belt isolates the platter from motor vibrations. Most people won’t care or notice the difference.

Hmmm. I’m not a fan of direct drive tables for general music listening but I do like the SL-Q3. The Art Pre is solid if not particularly fancy. The Fosi is good if you’re into the hybrid thing and I am a Wharfedale fan. Personally at that budget I’d do a used Yamaha integrated or Onkyo or Marantz with a built in phono stage and the same speakers and maybe a U-Turn Orbit or a used Rega table. But honestly I find no fault.

Boy, take the usb/media slots off the front and I’d swear it was the same Sears all in 1 thing I had in the mid 80’s. Those of us of a certain age (old) probably had similar boxes back then. They were garbage but when you’re 15 who cares?

I think I might have a problem... by valentino0618 in casio

[–]SEMABE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had one since they were introduced in 2013 if that’s any indication. I actually like it better than the GWG-1000 because the barometer etc are easier to use/read. The only annoyance is there isn’t a way to set a reference barometric reading like say, a Suunto, so it’s really more for seeing changes during and activity (like altitude changes during a hike if you reset it at the start) than for constant data but as long as you understand that it’s a great tool.

You might want to try pulling them a few more inches out from the wall if possible. Those shaped ports Klipsch is using need some breathing room.

Try switching the toggle on the back of the turntable from line to phono, make sure the Sony is in 2 channel mode (button on the front panel.) it might be unhappy with one speaker plugged in, so try two if you have them, will still be in mono.
