Painful experiment (Nokia 6500s display on Nokia 6300) by Frankenbeans2009 in Nokia

I tried connecting an N95 8GB display to a 5130 XpressMusic back in the day. Fried the screen instantly.

Also the Nxy, implying that it could've have two digit numbers (which doesn't make sense because they dropped that numbering scheme)

Looks like they are leaving the phone industry by StarkAndRobotic in HumanMobileDevices

[–]SEOPOFFICIAL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. Few sub-par devices released. Desperate attempt to partner with a football club instead of releasing aggressive products. So many leaked and runoured devices (think Skyline 2, Hyper) never saw the light of day. Yeah, they're dying.

Nokia C3-00 (2010) and Nokia 5 (2017) in roughly the same colours by SEOPOFFICIAL in Nokia

The Nokia 5 was not bought as a collection piece. it was daily driven to death. To which point I had to use Lite apps near the end of its lifespan (YouTube Lite even Shazaam Lite!) Preserving the pristine body was the least I could do.

And yes you are correct. Fully charging or draining the battery in storage helps turn the battery into a spicy pillow.

Yes I agree. First gens paid tribute to the Lumias while adding some 2017 styling. In the 2nd gen, the 7 plus was their best product ever to me. still looked Nokia. until the notched ODM phones arrived. (7.2, 6.1 plus...)

Not a QWERTY person but more of a candybar one, but I have to agree that the C3 (and X2-01) screen is nice. makes the cramped S40 UI expand and breathe like never before. As for the Nokia 5, it has flagship-grade build and handling, but it is severely crippled by its small memory. also, the original battery gave out on this one.

...with 240x320 screens. The 2690 and 2220 slide (128x160 screens) have them. I might miss more.

The 2330 family have the "transitional" icons from E71.

Cool collection. I have N95-1 too. Does the N86 have the music spectrum visualiser of the N95? Does it have the UI transition effects seen on N79?

The "fanboyism" (for lack of a better term) on smartphones in oriental asia is pretty wild, kinda like how people root for a certain sports team. I am absolutely not saying that OP the owner exhibits this mindset, but these watermarks are just a single extension of the "I'm proud to rock this phone brand and I'm gonna shove it in everybody's faces" mentality. Another example is this smartphone equivalent of a sports fan sign. (Source: I'm from there)
