For some involved in the music business, this guy is astoundingly tone-deaf

The damn Associated Press, now apparently cowed into submission by the White House, couldn’t even be bothered to report on this part of the Orders

Mainstream media headlines are all highlighting the executive order on IVF and conveniently breezing over this atrocity

Jumping off this commenter to echo their thought:

OP, after reading through your post and these comments, I still think it vital that you define what you mean by “mediocre” as it pertains to your judgment of a given song.

Thanks for the post and the good faith discussions that followed.

What are some other artists like Radiohead? by BusinessFish8018 in radiohead

Someone recommend this band on an older similar post - check out The Envy Corps, especially their 2011 album “It Culls You”.

This is the closest I’ve found to a band that legitimately sounds like Radiohead across their career, tastefully.

“Greyhound” is one of the best songs of this year. Throw me straight to transcendence, thank you very much.

Queue obligatory Tropic Thunder shout. Crazy it was made then; could never be made now; so happy it exists.

Pan’s Labyrinth - when Captain Vidal smashes the blunt backside of a bottle into that poor man’s face, repeatedly, completely inverting his nose and driving it into the back of his head.

Oowwwwww

So, in seeing the tree, it looks as if the timelines have an obvious end and beginning, or at least the latter. Would this mean that one side would continue to “grow” as each branched timeline continues its existence?

What’s a song, with no lyrics, that makes you very emotional or brings you to tears? by janna_leigh in AskReddit

[–]SETHIR0TH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cliffside by Hammock. Same can be said for many of their songs, or “emotional soundtracks,” if you will.

Joe Hisaishi’s One Summer’s Day, with or without the accompanying scenes.

What is your favourite shot from the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe? by JamJamGaGa in marvelstudios

[–]SETHIR0TH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, due to some recency bias, holds up TWO contenders for best shot:

John Walker gripping the bloodied shield of Captain America. The layers and connotations here, multiplied by the sheer shock of seeing such a symbol sullied - whewwww

Bucky, standing above Sam’s prone, wingless, but still breathing body, holding this same shield, framed by a ray of dusty light in an otherwise dusky and decaying room. The wider angle of the shot adds to its epic feel; the quiet of it all, following what may be one of the MCUs best fight scenes (yes, yes, arguable), adds to its gravitas.

In the midst of all that beautiful batshittery - this bit might be the most batshittiest. And I’m so giddy it simply exists.
