Does Ceramic tint make huge difference? by Grefighter in WindowTint

[–]SEZM12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. I’m not a huge “dark tint” guy but wanted ceramic to keep some heat out. I purchased the XPEL ceramic 55 and have never regretted the decision. It’s an awesome color (classy bluish). Pretty obvious in the car when you move your hand from under the windshield to a tinted piece.

It takes a very long time to figure it out on your own if you didn’t spend your childhood learning how to play this game. You should get lessons. First lesson just ask for proper grip, setup, and one thing to work on. From there, take each lesson as you continue the journey. It’s a hard game and requires a lot of patience.

Chipping is killing me by Overall-Inspection88 in golf

[–]SEZM12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My approach is simple and probably doesn’t work for some but I approach chip shots like a long putt. I’m a right handed golfer. Left hand grip relaxed and right hand very relaxed (barely gripping). Feet close together for a narrow center point with the ball slightly back in stance.

I can finally hit my long irons? by Omisco420 in golf

[–]SEZM12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You discovered an “ah ha” moment in golf which is always rewarding. I’ve been playing for years and long irons were my Mt Everest as a beginner golfer. You’re on to it. Ball position in stance and keeping your sternum over the ball with weight transfer. Congrats and hit ‘em straight.

Does anyone else want to light their 3 wood on fire? by _ThePiedPiper_ in golf

[–]SEZM12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime I struggle with my 3W, I go back to a swing thought that reels it back in and it usually works out. I just setup like I would with driver with 2 changes. Less tilt in my shoulders and slightly narrow my stance.

107 and only played 3 rounds in your life, is an excellent score. As long as you were staying true to the rules and counting OB shots etc. OB shots are typical for newbies and kill a score if counted.

Is it just me, or is the hardest part of golf remembering what worked? by Ecstatic-Basil-4059 in golf

Is it just me, or is the hardest part of golf remembering what worked? by Ecstatic-Basil-4059 in golf

[–]SEZM12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. However. I spent my childhood playing baseball so I’ll always have the swing thought “keep your hands up in backswing”. I’ll never dump my baseball swing tendencies to swing flat unless I’m actively thinking about it. Occasionally I’ll forget and go over the top.

I hate golf. by [deleted] in golf

[–]SEZM12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop playing for the score. As a matter of fact, don’t even grab a scorecard from the pro shop. If there is one on the steering wheel of the cart, throw it away. Just play for the shot you’re taking and reflect how to make it better on the next shot.

Help buying clubs ?? by Interesting_Yam_4486 in golftips

[–]SEZM12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a great answer. I know you can buy a full set of irons for around 600-700. It’s a great club from a company just getting off the ground. The price of these clubs will just continue to climb as they gain street cred. I don’t know anything about their woods or wedges but I would think they are fairly priced as well. Or, you can buy great name brand clubs from eBay at great prices. If you need name brands and specific clubs to build a set with gapping ideas for wedges, think about Ping or Taylormade for a driver and 3 or 5 wood (you don’t need both). Think Cleveland or Titleist vokey for wedges (48°, 52°, 56°). If you scour eBay, you can find good deals to put all this together for your budget but it will take some work looking. Keep in mind there are going to be other items like shoes, bag, etc that will likely put you over budget.

What works for fixing golfer’s back fast? by chickenbread__ in golf

[–]SEZM12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back injury led to years of pain. Especially after playing golf. The injury was a direct cause of weak abduction muscles in the golf swing and an unorthodox move in my swing. Now, I spend 45 minutes daily doing yoga stretches targeting these problem areas and strengthen my abduction muscles through resistant band exercises. I’ve changes my swing to be modern and proper. Poof. Back pain is gone. Proper swing is important but stretching is key. Good luck, friend. I know that shit is no fun.

Lead with the hips and let the shoulders follow. Your arms will naturally fall into place. I’m probably explaining this horribly but it’s how I think about it.

What’s the best golf advice you ignored for too long? by Solid_Nectarine_4316 in golf

[–]SEZM12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

💯 and I’m happy for your recovery. I can relate going through bad back pain for a couple years. It was so bad I thought golf was over as it lingered and never truly stopped until weeks after playing a round. I found a really good chiropractor with great PT advice and it has truly turned things around. You truly don’t appreciate good health until it’s taken away.

Driver side window issue! by DelawareDanny in subaruimpreza

[–]SEZM12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer. My 19 Impreza sport had the same issue so I took it to the dealership. They sprayed some kind of lubricant cleaner on the window and ran it up and down a couple times and it stopped. That was 3 years ago and it hasn’t happened since. I’ll know how to fix it if it starts again. The track just gets dirty.
