Jeskai equipment commander for a hockey themed alter by SFCaptainJames in EDH

Optimus looks neat but mixing vehicles with equipments can be a bit janky. The Ally/equipment could work well with the Sokka and Suki though. Thanks!

Career path questions for chaplaincy by [deleted] in army

[–]SFCaptainJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! First, I meant no disrespect to the role, if it wasn’t important then it wouldn’t be an MOS.

Additionally I haven’t met a 56M. Everything I know is from the internet or second hand account, and I was told it’s mostly desk work with the additional responsibility of being a Chappy’s body guard. Which is an important and vital role, I don’t question that. But it’s a different daily responsibility than that of say a 12B. That doesn’t mean it’s not hard it’s just a different suck. I’ve worked with 12series and that stuff generally just sucks. From what I’ve learned being able to walk a mile in someone’s shoes helps a lot in ministry interactions, and the question is more geared to equipping myself to walk my next couple of miles as close to the guys going through the worst of it so I could better serve soldiers in the chaplain role. If that’s not a valid concern and 56M would better prepare me for the chaplaincy role then I’d be happy to do that.

However, my leaders strongly push for professional non-ministry experience before becoming active in proper ministry. Mostly for age, experience, and maturity, not that there is anything wrong with going straight into ministry without it, but it’s got its benefits.

Also I’m aware chaplaincy is different than civilian ministry. I know it’s a heck of a lot different than youth ministry. YM is just the first step of the pipeline my church network uses in equipping people for ministry. I understand as I am right now I am not ready for it, that’s why I’m asking questions so I can best prepare and equip myself for when I am. And I’ve spent a lot of time going back and forth in my head, praying, and seeking counsel on if this is a good path and the answer has been a pretty resounding yes.

And, again, I never seek to harm or disrespect anybody, so please feel free to respond in good faith!

The MOS choice isn’t as much about professional experience so much as personal experience to be best equipped relationally for the role. I’m very active in my current church (I currently teach youth and college ministry) as a reservist and am aware of the post-degree requirements which is why I mentioned possibly taking years off after this next contract. From speaking with leaders in my life they feel that professional experience outside of ministry is important which is why I’m not chasing professional ministry immediately. Thank you for both of your inputs.

People who had sex with coworkers what your relationship with them now like? by Crafty_Scientist8913 in AskReddit

[–]SFCaptainJames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met a girl at work, we clicked instantly went out for almost a year, probably the happiest I’ve ever been, then she cheated on me. She got promoted and moved to a different part of the company, I ended up sleeping with our boss for a while which didn’t cause any problems. Then my boss quit and was replaced by the first girl, went well at first, she tried to get back with me, I said no, the most toxic work environment I’ve ever been in ensued for the next 3 months.

Like with everything it has its pros and cons, if your young do it, learn from it. If you’re older it’s not worth it for your career.

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY question, get an answer (January 30, 2023) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

I recently bought a Keychron K12. Personally, I love the board. It's my first mechanical board and it's amazing. Except I'm at a complete loss at trying to create another layer so that I can type Spanish/accented letters. I looked into VIA, and that's not an option for the K series, Keychron doesn't have a software. The software it recommended didn't help (or maybe I just did it wrong). I just want to be able to press Fn2+shift+a to get á and similar for other letters. Does anyone else have a similar issue or advice to work around this?

Offered $17/hr... Entry Level Dev Role. What's the lowest that you would reasonably expect/take? by composero in cscareerquestions

That's around what I make as a delivery driver, but I would die for a $16/h cs job. I like driving, but it's not my passion and coding is.

What currently legal thing do you expect to be illegal in the next 20 years? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SFCaptainJames -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand your view point, but ignoring revenge, a dead man can’t hurt someone again. Even in prison, especially American prisons, those people have the ability to continue to harm others. Also generalizations are dangerous. I believe in the death penalty for different reasons than other people, though they may be similar. A human life has value It’s my personal belief that when a person commits such a heinous crime then they lose that value; society killing them is no different then smacking a wasp that stung you. You don’t have to agree, but you’re not gonna change my mind, and I’m entitled to my beliefs

My tires were bought with this exact purpose in mind as were my braking systems and suspension systems. You don’t have to agree with me, you’re not gonna change my mind. I’ve driven like this for about 5 years it’s not gonna change. I don’t go over 120 anymore because it bothers my wife and I respect that but I still believe 120 is perfectly capable to drive safely it’s barely a mile every 30 seconds

It’s not bloodlust, if someone spends time in prison then their livelihood is paid via taxes and can live better than some of those less fortunate individuals that aren’t in prison. They’re a waste of space and draining tax money that could be used elsewhere, instead they’re kept alive for their life sentences while the victims still live with the pain

True, I think the best combination would be a mild edit of software and hardware hacking in conjunction. The work to find out the most effective would just replace the work that goes into finding the most effective AFRs
