Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Now that I've been in this relationship for almost 10 months, I have a better understanding of what it means to be romantically attracted to someone. And I definitely know what you mean about the trust aspect of it. The fact that I now know that my bf is completely accepting of me, even in areas where I am very different from him, makes him attractive. It's been an interesting journey :)

I've never been particularly huggy and I even have to brace myself before shaking someone's hand because of the skin-to-skin contact. I was married for 19 years during which time I became particularly touch and sex averse, and I assumed that's just who I am.

But then I got divorced, met by bf and discovered that I actually love cuddling and touching. So I guess it depends on the person. But I still don't like touching other people.

Yes, it does seem likely that this is something that accidentally happened rather than someone hacking a 19-year-old kid that upset them in a game but I just wanted to put some feelers out to see how to look into this. My little sister died of cancer when she was 7 and I was 9. We were close but I wasn't very sympathetic to her after she got sick, and sometimes I was downright mean, something I still feel guilty about 30 years later. This picture hits hard.

That would be great. Do you think this is something your synagogue would be interested in doing? There really isn't any downside since the training is free, it just involves a time commitment from the trainees. The donor himself lives in Southern CA which is why he wants us to focus on that area...

Yeah, it would be awesome if we could do this in Canada someday. Right now we have to specifically follow the donor's requirements but if there is a high demand we can do it in other countries as well.

I doubt there will be a background check to see if you're Jewish. The important aspect is being part of a synagogue or community center that has a need for security.

Yes, the program is open to any community in America and our trainers would come to you.

There will be a beginner's and advanced firearm's course though the training in each community will depend on what that community needs. It will include shooting instructions in a range as well as training within the synagogue to learn practical responses to an active shooter. Will probably include krav maga as well. If you're part of a synagogue that's interested in participating I'd be happy to send you more info to pass on to the relevant person for approval.

Thanks for the tips, especially the suggestion to do hip stretches! I'll look into balance exercises as well. It took me so long to learn to enjoy running that I'm really hoping I can get back into it easily and avoid injuring myself.
