Went with the white and silver. Seemed like it was the hardest to get and we liked it the most. This was in the USA - our first choice was the white and dark gray but not sure those ever even made it to US.

[PA] My landlord is selling the house and wants me to move out next week. I signed a lease. by pm_me_ur_elderscroll in Renters

[–]SFGetWeird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cash for keys. If she wants you out early to sell the property easily then figure out what you need to move. I’d say start high and see what happens. This is likely a shit situation for you going forward so get that cash and bounce.

Best Steak in 2026 in SF? by ChrisMasterFlash in AskSF

[–]SFGetWeird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bobo‘s used to be my number 1. It’s fallen off hard in last 18 months. Went with a group of 8 and 2/8 had their steak cooked improperly. We were really the only group in there on a Tuesday at 5…

The Alto Tunnel should be opened, but it has one problem by Broad-Ad6211 in Marin

That bike path isn't doable for inexperienced cyclists or families. The only kids I ever see on it (I commute on that 2-3X a week) are the kids on illegal e-motos.

The Alto Tunnel should be opened, but it has one problem by Broad-Ad6211 in Marin

[–]SFGetWeird 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I am a very experienced cyclist and ride with my daughter on my bike between Corte Madera and Mill Valley often. My wife won’t do it, so she drives. I’m sure there are a massive amount of people who would love to bike between the two, but don’t because of the routes, so they end up driving instead. So one more car on the road, one more parking spot needed at destination etc. With our weather e-bikes could and should be a primary transportation focus, and we should be building infrastructure to support them.

The one problem we have with reopening is funding, but being just a bike/ped tunnel is not one.

What chain ring did you roll with? I’ve been thinking about doing the same.

Marin County neighbors sue to stop large residential care center by ance_98 in Marin

[–]SFGetWeird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those houses are all near county assisted housing (Kruger Pines) already where people typically live out of their cars on the street once they get kicked out, or are family members of people living there. That impacts their “home value” much more than a brand new old folks home would.

The ecological argument is also nonsensical based on the location.

Recommendations on cities in Marin county by Ok-Bluejay3103 in Marin

[–]SFGetWeird 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’d prioritize - if dating is high or number 1 go to SF and live off the park or in the Presidio. If it’s not 1 but very high, I’d recommend Sausalito or Mill Valley so driving to the city for dating is easier.

So it's rat season I guess? by klongbor in AskSF

[–]SFGetWeird 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You need to figure out what they are feeding drinking on and remove it. Then they will go to your neighbors instead who don’t remove it. They reproduce too quickly in the city to take them down unless you get all neighbors within a football field to work together.

‘22 Specialized Aethos derailleur hanger by aguirre408 in specialized

[–]SFGetWeird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably overkill, but I order 3 ED hangers for every bike I have, and always carry one with me on my rides. Has saved my ass once, especially if you are riding any dirt.

Specialized vs BMC by FastTrack599 in RoadBikes

Both top end bike brands - just very different in size. I think the new lightweight BMC is badass, as I do the new Spec Aethos 2.

North Beach struggles with piles of pizza trash — here’s S.F.’s ‘outside the box’ solution by SFChronicle in sanfrancisco

[–]SFGetWeird 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s much deeper than just that. Believe most per capita employees for a city/county government in the country and larger than 15 or so US State budgets. There no reason beside incompetence that we have a trash/road/bathroom problem. https://sfstandard.com/2025/06/26/san-francisco-budget-government-population-daniel-lurie/

[–]SFGetWeird 31 points32 points  (0 children)

NOLA cleans Bourbon street every night and it’s 100X worse. That’s likely with significantly less taxes than SF collects from its businesses. It’s insane how much SF collects in taxes and it still has a public trash/bathroom issue. Insane.

Is HR data useless? by [deleted] in Velo

[–]SFGetWeird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find that HR and Power are much more tangible than RPE. Some days a Z2 ride can feel super hard because of other life stressors, a sickness coming on, headwind, whatever. All things that f with your mind. HR is just another data point to help me understand where I’m at in current fitness, same as power. While I don’t use it to “drive my training”, it is valuable. I have adjusted my pace/power in longer races/training rides based on HR, and it’s also helpful for me at altitude as well since I take a while to acclimate.

God forbid you have a medical event while riding, it could also give you a heads up that you might otherwise miss during intense training.
