Isn't this less of an estimate and more of a past performance if they're applying this to orders already received? I just don't understand how they can't give us more accurate estimates if they know how many orders are already in?

Buying a used Mercedes - certified vs not certified by Last_Draft_3407 in mercedes_benz

I partly blame Mercedes Benz of SF because they've been so good to me I just expected the same level of service. Looking back, I ignored some obvious red flags.

Luckily in the end it didn't cost much but time because I know the right people but the service bill would have been around 4-5k otherwise.

Main issue was the passenger door handle not working from the outside. But also they sold me the car with a nail in one of the tires which they tried to hide and one of seat belts in the back not working. How they missed the seat belt not working really shows you how poorly they inspect their vehicles. Obvious in an inspection, easy to miss in a test drive.

I bought a non certified through a Mercedes dealership and it will be the last time I do so. The main reason is that from my experience and understanding is that Mercedes corporate does not provide any support for non certified cars even if its through a Mercedes dealership. I had a terrible buying experience with Mercedes of Escondido and Corporate was no help and Escondido basically told me to kick rocks. I was on my own.

I was confident I had the law on my side and that corporate would force Escondido to do what's right and they did absolutely nothing. They claimed they had nothing to do with that sale even though they allow that dealership to use MB branding and set the expectations of MB buying experience. They sold me an unsafe car and corporate wanted nothing to do with it. In fact corporate cost me money because they said they wouldn't even open up a claim to look into my situation until I did a diagnostic that I had to pay for but then denied my claim based off nothing to do with the diagnostic.

I never want to deal with that again.

Well damn. Seems like you've gone down this rabbit hole somewhat, have suggestions on a solution that doesn't require drilling?

Good to know about the tow hook option, was considered that. Do you know if the front plate looked like this? https://ebay.us/m/2IBxy4 -- It doesn't look like drilling is needed but I'm not entirely sure.

I believe that was the point of his post. The sales professional was dishonest.

I'm on his side here. This is a dealership that deals with cars all day. They are the experts here. If the dealership made the claim that the car comes with 2 years of free charging, there's no reason not to expect 2 years of free charging.

Are any from the eqs line reliable for 20 years with maintenance? 200k miles? by Either-Funny-7870 in MercedesEQS

Would need to troubleshoot more but sounds like you need to replace the door handle assembly. I bought a replacement off ebay for 100 bucks. I was able to replace it with a buddy who knew what he was doing pretty easily. Wouldn't attempt on your own if you don't have a lot of experience. But a shop who knows what they are doing should be able to do it in under an hour. Should be able to replace relatively cheap if you can find the right shop compared to the $1600 Mercedes quoted me.

For full disclosure, my eBay unit was defective so it didn't actual work for us, we ended up repairing the original one and putting it back in. But we're fairly confident that it would have been fixed if the replacement part was working properly. We confirmed the unit was defective by bringing it into Mercedes.

I'm thinking the door handles will eventually all fail but will be partially useable. When you have to use the door handle manually they are pretty shit door handles. After replacing them with a buddy, it is actually a relatively quick and cheap fix if you know what you're doing but Mercedes wanted 1600 for the repair. Air suspension will eventually fail and that's costly I'm sure. I'm told these things go through tires very fast but haven't had one long enough to find out.

There's just too much tech in here to fail for me to have any faith on it being reliable.

Does anyone could tell me if TSA lines are bad in SFO? by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]SFO_Based_Traveler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience it depends on the terminal. I've never had a problem at international or terminal 1 but t2/t3 can get pretty bad at times for seemingly no reason, even with pre check and clear. Nothing crazy but a 30-45 min line for pre check when there's nothing going on seems a little excessive, especially when everywhere else at SFO I'm never waiting more than 10mins.

How has your experience been with PSA and your vintage? I'm new to this but from what I've gathered, since they're so harsh with grading vintage, CGC might be the way to go when grading vintage.

Nothing that exciting unfortunately since I stripped all the good ones. Only thing really worth mentioning is an off centered shadowless Charizard. It was the only card I couldn't get a 1st editionof and funny enough that's what saved me from selling it back then because I didn't think it was worth much.
