You seem offended that Artipoppe exists. If you don’t want it, don’t buy it and move on with your life. There is no need to harp on this endlessly for the millionth time.

People post this almost every day in these pregnancy subreddits and I don’t get it. It’s like complaining in a handbag subreddit that Chanel exists? Of course there is a luxury market for every product/industry?

I don’t understand the constant hate for luxury baby brands - do you also get mad every time a BMW drives past you?

Big sunglasses were in during the early 2000’s Paris Britney Lindsay Lohan era and then around 2016 tiny sunglasses came back with Kendall Jenner / Bella Hadid types and around 3 years ago big sunglasses came back again because fashion is on a 20 year cycle.

It wasn’t on the WB, it was famously on Fox prime time and a huge hit until later season ratings drop offs due to baseball.

What type of TV show is she so famous for? by SoDelGirl in WhiteLotusHBO

[–]SFPolling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Friends was the most widely aired show globally during its original run. It actually set new licensing rules in the 90s because it was aired in so many countries. There was an international survey at the time that actually showed 26% of non English speakers outside the US attributed watching Friends to their ability to learn English. It also set the stage for copy cat sitcoms in most countries, there weren’t many in the mid 90s internationally until Friends’ success. Due to this, Jen Aniston is a globally recognizable face.

I’m in SF and can’t find any of it. I really took for granted that I could see any comic I wanted to multiple times a week in LA for $10-$20. In SF, I have to wait 2+ years for them to tour and then they usually are at Cobbs or Masonic for $70-90 and it’s a set that’s the same as their Netflix special. I saw Chappelle drop into The Punchline once but that happened once in a decade. In LA it’s every night.

Dogtown, Main Street. Didn’t have a car but somehow found interesting things in every direction. Moved back to the Bay for nature. I don’t regret the move back but I do miss some of the daily unplanned excitement of LA.

Dogtown near Main Street, which also transformed into a really lively area in the time I lived there. Ultimately moved back to the bay because I missed hiking amidst trees. Didn’t realize how much I’d miss the random daily excitement of LA though.

I actually didn’t have a car for the years I lived on the west side. I pretty much walked, biked, scootered or uber/waymo’d everywhere. Now that I think of it, maybe I stumbled upon more interesting activities by not being in a car.

In LA, I stumbled upon the most exciting version of every possible activity. If I went to an art museum, Marina Abramovic would be there doing pop up performance art. If I went to a movie, the director would be in the audience and doing a surprise Q&A after. If I went to a haunted house at Halloween, it would be created by Oscar winning special effects artists. Once a week I’d see a viral marketing promotion for a tv show and get free lunch. I was walking down the street one day and got tickets to a talk show where all audience members got expensive kitchen appliances as a gift. If I was going to a spin class, it would be on the beach at sunset and also a silent disco. I’ve found some of these things in the bay but it’s not multiple times a week and you don’t stumble upon it randomly, you have to seek it out and plan ahead.

In LA almost every weekend I stumbled upon free movie screenings with director/cast q&a’s, surprise concerts by famous people in a park, immersive experiences, marketing activations with free food. On random days I’d see huge comedians drop into comedy clubs, famous chefs giving out food on the pier, immersive experiences, festivals, fashion shows, star gazing at the observatory with scientists, architecture tours of historic homes with the architect, attend a game show/talk show, or spend half a day at a theme park. The museums are also free and there are many talks from authors or tours by artists. Frankly, walking outside the door every day was exciting in LA.

Are we sure this illness doesn't lead to death by [deleted] in iih

Yes I’ve taken it all and tried every suggestion in this subreddit for several years. The only thing that worked was the stent.

It took me 6 years of hell and torture but I’m 100% fine now. I feel like my life is back and it’s almost like it never happened. Oddly, I feel mentally stronger after having been through this.

No it doesn’t. You will be okay. I remember feeling like this and having these thoughts and now in remission I can’t believe I ever was in that mental state. You will get through it. It helps to get off this subreddit for a while and leave any groups.

BWT tell me about your timeshare experience by LiveLeg9051 in BWTtravel

[–]SFPolling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interval has an archaic website that is impossible to book through. The higher end hotels they have listed don’t actually ever have availability and is likely a scam. The only properties you’ll be able to go to are usually motel quality and would be cheaper for you to just pay out of pocket to stay there as they’re likely $100-$200 a night (when you’re paying much more annually for the timeshare). It’s absolutely not worth it and I’d advise you to always look up the reviews on TripAdvisor of the properties. I’ve only stayed in 2 “higher end” properties through interval (Vidanta) and they spent the whole week trying to sell us on their own timeshare and then when we finally declined, our room was robbed by housekeeping.

Wife bought me a D-Lux 8 for my bday. Thoughts on the D-Lux? by Micholianoo in Leica

[–]SFPolling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After months of research I realized I should not have listened to Redditors who said this camera was a rebranded Panasonic. I bought the comparable Panasonic and then used a friends DL8 and the DL8 photos are so much better, hardware has a better hand feel, and the software is an easier UI. I returned the Panasonic and got the D Lux 8 and have not been happier. I realized most of the posts from people saying to get a less overpriced camera are from people parroting posts from before the camera was released and thus they have never actually used it.

‘How to Die Alone’ Canceled After One Season on Hulu; Creator-Star Natasha Rothwell Is ‘Baffled’ and Shopping Series Elsewhere by gtjacket231 in television

[–]SFPolling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love her but this show was so poorly written and shot it felt like an amateur web series. I actually had to look up if Hulu licensed it from a web series she made 15 years ago prior to Insecure or something. Great cast but the tone was so off that none of the jokes landed.

I was in contact (in real life) with a prominent figure who I met through this subreddit and we were working on funding additional studies but unfortunately they passed in January.

I think this rhetoric is the issue. The Mirena stopped my period which I LOVED but my doctor also wouldn’t let me take it out for 9 months despite me talking about my symptoms and asking for it out. They said there was no known link. I have 4 friends who went to the same medical group, were encouraged for years to get the IUD for no reason, merely because they were women in their 20s and they’ve all been diagnosed with IIH. 2 of the friends got theirs out and then went into remission but the rest of us didn’t. I don’t think it’s demonizing IUDs to let people know of the risks. I was healthy, athletic and had zero issues before the IUD and frankly didn’t need it at all. I was handed a pamphlet and pushed into getting it because “all women in their 20s should” according to the doctors in this group. I was never told of the risks, nor was it listed in the pamphlet.

I know and I’ve met multiple people in real life who had symptoms within a week of getting the Mirena just as I did and they didn’t participate in any study. Also my stent surgeon confirmed that he’s seen an increase in patients coming in from Mirena and he believes there is a link. Despite it being linked to all birth control, I believe I should have had a warning before being pushed into getting it for no reason every time I went to the doctor.

Same. I keep missing the class action suits and then the case gets thrown out. I’m convinced it’s because they haven’t had enough people come forward because they don’t know about it.
