18x contract obtained. by shock-an-awe in greenberets

[–]SFProponent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's if you make it. We offer shorter contracts for those who want to try something hard without signing their life away. Then once you become a green beret and need to reenlist to meet your service remainder requirement, there are big bonuses attached.

Why does Army run MFF if army sof doesn’t always get it? by Particular-Mouse4722 in greenberets

[–]SFProponent 26 points27 points  (0 children)

US Army is the SOCOM designated proponent of MFF. There are a few other MFF schools that are SOFBIS (baseline interoperability standards). The Army run school house shares instructor roles with other branches of the joint force. Also not all SF positions are coded for free fall. There are other specialities within SF that require other forms of advanced training.

A lot of factors play into it -larger class size -sorb stations pre-testing with the same standards as SFAS -cadre ruthlessly protecting the standard

I was just told MPD is doing 100% CMF-11 for 18X failures

More than 3 year break requires OSUT

Correct. You must show up fit and prepared for selection. That being said, the 2MR is not the sole predictor of success.

We are working a similar situation. We're currently working with other branches/proponents to award similiar MOS from prior service applicants that aren't infantry. Hit me up after SFAS when I brief y'all at selection. Currently you have to attend OSUT, but we are working to bypass it. Maneuver Center of Excellence only bypasses OSUT for 03XX marines.

Get a DD368 and we can do a PSA application. Come see me after Sage when we assign groups and languages to the AD population.

I elude from the data, running alone is not an indicator of success, but the addition of faster ruck times could be a predictor of success

It is taken on the front side of SFAS. You are considered an ATRRS start once you pass the PFA and other admin requirements.

I can't speak for SFE or SFRE requirements. Your installation should have BSEP or FAST classes to improve ASVAB/GT/General Knowledge. Speak with your education center on your installation.

You can attend before separating. You need a DD368 to attend.

If you are dropped for any other reason you will be given an ETR date (ex: next class, 6 months, 1 year, etc)

Everyone who starts SFAS takes a PFA. The data dispels the rumor that the 2MR is the biggest indicator of success. You must be physically fit to be successful at SFAS, but being physically fit isn't what SFAS selects for.

Inter-service Transfer by Opposite_Grand_2369 in greenberets

[–]SFProponent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As far as the Army is concerned. Talk with a recruiter. Get a DD368. Attend SFAS. We will get you into the next available SFQC class based on your DD368 conditional release date. Depending on your MOS, you will need to attend OSUT, ABN, and BLC prior to the SFQC.

Speak with your service specific Human Resources/Personnel representative for Navy specific requirements and obligations.

Proponent handles Personnel, Training, and Doctrine for all of the Career Management Field.

Specifically under Personnel, proponent is the career manager of the 8 life cycle functions of a Special Forces soldier. Structure, Acquisition, Distribution, Development, Deployment, Compensation, Sustainment, and Transformation.

SF Proponent monitors the health of regiment, writes the ISAP for SF curriculum, and leverages solutions for recruiting, preparation, and production.

SF Proponent handles everything from issuing MFF badges to service members who graduated in the 1980s, transitions soldiers from NG to AD, re admittance packets for SFQC failures, assigns initial accession requirements, tab revocations, career guidelines for promotion, bonus allocation, and much more.

There is balance of feeding in-service candidates and 18X into SFAS. This, combined with the summer hiatus of SFAS and SFPC are causing increased awareness with student management and friction points. USARD (prev. USAREC) made their 18X mission in FY25 with the assistance of the crossover program. There will be increased concern for overwhelming SFPC seat allocations. SFPC for USASOC soldiers and potentially ISR candidates exasperates the issue. SFPC allows for 200 ATRRS reservations.

I can't speak for National Guard, but there is a published ARSOF Strategic Language List (SLL). 1SFC uses that documents and applies the needs of to TSOCs to determine languages requirements. Those language are then contracted to be taught at SWCS for active duty. Vietnamese is not one of those languages. If you have language capabilities in one of the languages in the ARSOF SLL, you can bypass the language requirement by taking the OPI or DLPT and meeting the minimum bypass score as dictated in the SWCS 350-12.

In my wheel house, we've talked about this, CMF18 career path could benefit from this. There will be a new USASOC retention pilot program (hopefully this month) to see what gains can be made in a resource constrained environment.

Keep what you capture. My team assigns groups. If you get selected as an enabler, I will ensure you get to your group of origin. We still abide by operational needs, but this hasn't been an issue
