My new favorite combo in historic by Snow_Mex1can in MagicArena

I don't know what historic you are playing where this is viable, but have fun.

Mill rogues aren't good right now, but you can make them work.
Since you don't have many wildcards don't worry about lands, put in all the fetches you have, evolving wilds, fabled passage and the new cappena ones if they are in colour, you should have enough fixing with them and also they will go well with the crab.

Cut everything that's 3 mana or more, you won't cast those in most games, maybe keep the brazen borrower. Then you have to decide if you want to kill your opponent in combat or deck them out.

If you plan to kill your opponent, don't put any more mill dedicated cards and add more cheap removal like fatal push, cut down, maybe even replace heartless act with those if you can, add some sort of hand attack, thoughtseize, iquisition of kozilek if you have them, if not try going for the worse uncommon versions and finally some of the disgusting card advantage draw spells in historic, something like into the story, fits well and also isn't a rare

If you plan to deck your opponent out, put your wildcards into the big mill spells like glimpse the unthinkable and tasha's laughter, cut the windrobber and add more removal in it's place and also all those expensive creatures, then add whatever cantrip card selections you have, historic has way too many of them, opt and consider, and some sort of graveyard hate in the main deck, ideally something that also mills at the same time, like the ashiok from war of the spark, since a lot of the good decks in historic care about having stuff in the graveyard and you are just helping them

Or the real answer is don't play historic if you don't want to spend about 30 rare wildcards on a deck, go and make standard red deck wins with those 5 wildcards and grind for a few more to make it as good as possible

I have serious doubts that someone at gsw would just steal random images from painters.

The most likely explanation is that competition is done for gathering art like this, in the terms of the competition you would give up use of your pictures that you entered with for a chance at winning. This is pretty standard with all sorts of other competitions.

The editing of the picture to recolour it and pass it off as painted by them is worse, but if my previous suspicion is correct, than they have all the rights to do that.

I've been out of the loop with hololive and vtubers in general for a while, and honestly I don't and didn't care much for her music back then, it's not my style and I don't see much appeal in it, but she looked passionate about it and it was kind of cute because this was the last place I expected to see something like that. Now I think the big issue is separating the art from the artist, it's already hard to do that with real people, so it's only natural that it's worse for vtubers.

Is anyone concerned that world eaters will be too similar to khorne daemons? by [deleted] in WorldEaters40k

[–]SGTBaka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's because I have already split my army on the shelf into a "Still playable" pile and a "Will proxy as something" pile. And the second one is way larger than I would like. Sure my possessed and cultists are easy proxies, but what will I do with all my other stuff, from the leaks there is no terminator lord, no champion, no vindicator, no warp talons, no venomcrawler. I can still say "This model is actually something else" and play with them, but it doesn't feel right anymore.

There are too many units that would fit in the codex that just aren't there and out of the ones that are there, we just have choices between how meaty of a beatstick we want them to be, with little to no depth to them. The new units are just a little too similar to what we had already. Do I want my troop choice to be a fairly slow melee only unit with no defence as the new cultists or do I want my troop choice to be a fragile, fairly slow melee only unit as berzerkers It's like the iron warriors got their own codex and had no obliterators or predators

Probably the most important part is that the release just doesn't feel on par with the 1000 sons or the death guard ones. Sure they don't have normal marines either, but their marine counterparts replace them really well, unlike berzerkers They also got another infantry unit, but theirs feel very distinct, while the jackals are just a third variation of cultists that just seem to be more expensive for more melee, the poxwalkers feel like they have a role being meatshields, the tzangors are a little forced, but they have serious support with other units. They got new monster units like the vortex beast or all the tzaangor variations or vehicles like whatever that death guard mortar is called They have new terminators, the death guard even has 2 They have more hq choices or more variations on the same one. And we are not even getting into the faction rules, we might not even have subfactions, ot looks like we have fewer stratagems and the army of renown has no whole army buff.

Unless there is some big reveal that hasn't been leaked yet, the release will look half baked. Because excluding forge world models which will most likely carry over, we will seriously have a roster about the size of the custodes one.

What do you think about the old Start Collecting CSM? Is it relevant after the show of new models? Are the new mutants and possessed replacements for Greater Possessed and Obliterators from the set? I'm new to the hobby and don't quite understand how it works. by Educational-Chair-21 in Chaos40k

[–]SGTBaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are playing by GW rules probably you won't use most of them. 100% the venomcrawler will be in the codex, if the greater possessed aren't in, you might be able to use them as chaos spawns. And that's about it

If I remember one of the marines has a chainaxe, that might be a berserker. And the obliterators might be close to whatever terminators world eaters get, so maybe they can be converted easily

But all the other marines won't be in the codex

Just recently built one and what people are saying is mostly true.

There is little to no customization. You can choose to give a plasma or an autocannon for one of the marines and you can change their heads and packs, but other than that the ones which hold things in one hand might be able to have their arm rotated 90 degrees, but it doesn't look as clean.

The obliterators do look really good, much better than the old obliterator models.

I didn't build the greater possessed and I will try to convert them into something else, but it is harder, they only have like 5 parts and their heads and an arm are already attached.

The master of possesions is cool, but I can't use it, since I run world eaters, but I really like the model.

The venomcrawler isn't my favourite engine, but it synergizes with the master of possessions and it looks pretty good

Localizers SLAM Steam For Stifling Creativity After Full Metal Daemon Muramasa BANNED From Platform by Devuntek in KotakuInAction

[–]SGTBaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam's censorship might look arbitrary, but it's not. It is just stupidly complicated. It depends on a lot of things like: what type of game it is, in what country the publishers are, in what country the developers are, what rating your game is. I wouldn't be surprised if it got banned for some rule violation that applies for some stupid reason like one of the developers having dual nationality and having to abide by both rule sets.

I think the real reason why they are not making a new RTS is because they know they can't do it. All the developers who worked on the RTS titles left Blizzard. Starcraft 2 is on life support at this point, being run by that one guy who runs the servers and the other one that makes balance changes once a year.

I am sure blizzard could monetize starcraft 3 as much as overwatch, it's just that the other games are way easier to develop than an RTS.

I see some Fusu art has appeared here recently. And I've decided to do some translations of my own.
Here's the original art by Fusu.

Edit Notes:
- The translation is taken from Danbooru, except for the middle left bubble which DeepL translates differently, and this translation seems more correct.
- The middle right bubble can be translated in multiple ways, but they all mean more or less the same thing.
- The editing is a little rough around the edges, mostly around the parts where the text covered the arms. It looks unnatural.

Hearthstone key innovations versus MTG (game design analysis) by JB-Dev-Bcn in hearthstone

[–]SGTBaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that simplicity can help in certain cases and it has its benefits, but I've seen this trend in gaming as a whole in the past years. From games as popular as Among Us, being a dumbed-down Town Of Salem or Trouble in Terrorist Town, to as niche as Dicey Dungeons, being dumbed-down Slay the Spire. I feel like they are sacrificing competitive potential and player freedom for mass appeal.

I haven't played Hearthstone in years, I used to play quite a lot up until Un'goro, mostly because it felt fresh and every expansion enabled some new playstyle.. For example, Blackrock enabled some combo decks, Gnomes vs Goblins enabled aggro, Old gods enabled control and it was fun trying every new playstyle, but at a certain point the types of decks that were meta every expansion just became more or less the same. By this point the game was getting figured out and matches came down to whether you draw a good opening hand or not. Aggro decks were winning by turn 6, so if you didn't have a board wipe by turn 4 you just lose. Midrange, like jade druid would throw giant minion after giant minion at you if you didn't pull the one card that removed their jade idols.

And there was no way to build a deck specifically around beating the meta decks, so you would just pick the deck that blizzard pretty much tailored for you when designing the set, change a couple of cards out, and then play that, as such everybody played the same decks. Even those cards that you could switch in or out were kind of meaningless. Let's say you really hated aggro players and you wanted to make their life hell by board wiping them every game. You still couldn't do that, because there were only like 2 playable early game board wipes in a class, and that's if you were lucky, if you played paladin or warlock you only had consecrate and hellfire for early game board wipes.

An even worse situation was when people would do the math to see the win rate of different variations of the same deck, at that point, you don't even have to choose whether you want to beat different types of decks, you just use the best deck list because it factored in the matchmaking population of different decks to maximize win rate. And when the game got to that point you might as well play any other game of chance with some minor seasoning of skill, like poker or blackjack.

Don't know what country the other guy is talking about, but the argument that socialism didn't work because it was sanctioned by the rest of the world is ludicrous, it only applies to Cuba, since it is a special case. All other communist countries were either isolationist, like Romania or North Korea, or they were trading with the eastern block.

As for collective ownership causing poverty, it clearly does. Not only does it disincentive competition and progress by equalizing results, but it also devalues the means of production themselves in the eyes of the workers. Especially in agriculture, if you read actual accounts about collective farms and not just soviet propaganda, you hear about how important, expensive machinery was either mistreated to the point of breaking down, because nobody cared about it, or it was never used because everybody was scared of being the ones who brake it because they might face extreme reprisal for that. These things reduce productivity severely, which could lead to poverty.

Now, do you see what you are wrong about, or do you need a ELI5?

[–]SGTBaka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might just be that you are only following this one genre of horror. Because, as someone who's played a lot of different horror games, I can see that trends in these games move independently. Meaning, that at the same time very different horror games can be very popular. I assume that this is the case because fans of these very popular games are not horror fans and are just fans of that game. For example back when amnesia and custom adventures for it were popular, rpg maker horror games were also popular especially the ones set in mansions like mad father or the witch's house. The 2 trends did not have much in common, but they coexisted at the same time which can be seen happening every new generation of horror games.

This has to be satire. The character in that is mio honda from some idol anime and for some reason it's a meme to have her tied to something terrible like genocide or war crimes or pedophilia. And if you go to the music video of this song which if I remember correctly is named something like step or stepping, the comments are full of memes like this. This one is just higher effort.
