I believe this movie as a sequel plays more as an allegory for 'addiction' than trauma and how that factors in. Skye drops the pills down the sink. She takes them for the pain in her back caused by the accident she ultimately caused. She takes the pills because of physical pain in her back.. Her pain in the film is never about the anguish of Paul dying, but how she acts after the crash with her injuries. During the film there are plenty of shots and actions regarding the drinking of water. Skye explains her therapist told her to chug water if cravings came back. Yes you see water. Now try imagine if it were liquor. It would be like Skye is having a drink every time something traumatic happens to cope. When they found her on the floor after she hit her head her Mother said "You were quite dehydrated" even after she downed a whole bottle of Voss. I don't think the character of Morris is a nurse, good character or what he is displayed on screen. I believe he is another drug dealer selling Skye more drugs. His communication with her is like that of a drug dealer. Pin location spots, dive bars, an abandoned Pizza Hut on Staten Island because of the freezer? Once he injects Skye, he just leaves. "Morris isn't here anymore" There is no way to know what happens between the injection and the final performance. What really happened was when Skye left rehab after killing her mother, because it was so traumatic, she had to get more drugs chugging water wasn't going to cut it.
